My family and I went to El Meson del Garambullo to have a 10 course tasting meal, from the Spanish Cuisine. First of all Armadillo is 50 minutes away from the City of San Luis Potosi in Mexico, its a little town in the middle...of nowhere surrounded by mountains in a semi-desertic area. This town was founded early 1600, it is placed in between the mountains. The restaurant is just outside the colonial town, with its open dining area surrounded by beautiful gardens, mainly cactus (different species). We were seated in a round table (party of 7), which is just perfect to talk to each other. We were offered our drinks, I told the waitress that I brought a bottle of wine from my cellar for this occasion, she had to call the Manager to our table, he informed me that there was a fee to let me open the wine, which is perfectly understandable, he was at all times very polite and friendly, kudos for him. The waitress wasn't the best I had, but neither the worst. Then the courses start coming to our table, there were 10 plates including dessert, for a price of $350.00 pesos per person. Some of them were good, some just plain normal, one or two were very good, all in all the experience was good. I think they can improve if they buy a better quality of raw materials. The dessert was like from out of a box. They only open on Saturday and Sunday, we went on Saturday. We want to go back to this place because it was just beautiful to be in, there were also two guys playing their spanish guitars, the ambience was just perfect, I really wish they had a menu, otherwise I don't see my family going back to have the same tasting experience. Don't get me wrong, we had a very nice evening and we are considering going back. Go there, with out a doubt!More

This place has a great view, excellent outdoor seating option with gazebos and a special "all you can eat menu" ($275 pesos) with around 10 different options, it's quite special because a big dish is served in the middle of the table with a specific...kind of food, the same procedure is repeated over and over until the last one is served, once all dishes have been tried, you can ask to bring more of any dish you have liked, drinks are not included. Service is slow since the place is really crowded specially on weekends, we had to wait long time between dish and dish, once we finished with all different dishes the waiter kind of forgot us. Food is good but nothing beyond average. Make sure to verify the check to avoid getting any extra charges for anything not ordered.More
