Very nice bar to see the sunset. The drinks were delicious. We went there several times and depending on the staff the timing to be served could variate.

Please order the “Al Pastor” or “Vegan”, amazing experience. Outstanding service and great mood. Also the blonde ale (locally crafted) was great. The view is amazing too!

Went for the happy hour (5-8 pm) pina colada special ( first drink 35 pesos ($2), refills $25 pesos (1.50), served in a pineapple husk. Drinks were warm, watery and fairly small, even granted the low price. Between the two of us, had ten and...never caught even a mild buzz. Topped things off with an attempted 50% overcharge on our tab, which while admittedly was immediately corrected, but still, left a bad feeling. Go elsewhere, pay a little more.More

We found this spot based on the recommendation of a bartender at a great bar in Oaxaca City (Fernando at Aloha Oaxaca) who we found due to a recommendation by another bartender and so on and so on. It did not disappoint. Low key spot...on the beach with a great little round central bar you can sit at, amazing selections of spirits and a very talented bartender/owner (Chris). We had multiple cocktails here, including the best Pina Colada we have ever tasted. It's a beach bar, so expect the service to be pretty relaxed, but the drinks are on par with some of the most top notch city tiki bars.More

The girls serving are friendly but the guys behind the bar don't know how to make a piña colada so we didn't take advantage of the happy hour offer. Disappointing.

I went to the palapita bar prior to Happy Hour (Apr 17, 2019). As a prior post indicated the drinks were the most expensive - I did Not find that to be the case. I drank a Jack Daniels and Coke - for two plus...the tip, around $12.00 US. I did not find that offensive and the VIEW - Great!!!More

Location and atmosphere are good. But as noted on another review, the tip was added to our bill, that dont mention that and then they kept our substantial change without offering it back. The bartenders are not Mexican, which we would much prefer. They were...snooty, and we are guessing from Argentina. Drinks are the most expensive of any beach bar in Zicatela. Go somewhere friendlier and more honest! Like Fresh restaurant and bar next door. Or anywhere else.More

This is a nice spot on the beach with friendly servers (at least superficially), a chill vibe and decent (if slightly weak) cocktails. Unfortunately, there is also something scammy going on. I looked at our bill: an 18% propina (tip) was included as an item...where the drinks were listed. At the bottom of the same bill, it said, "propina not included". The objective here can only be to scam people into tipping twice by leaving the "propina not included" comment at the bottom of the bill next to the total. When I mentioned to the server that, since the tip was included, I would not add anything else, he had the nerve to point to the bottom line and tell me that the tip is not included. Then I pointed to the tip line and he said, whoops, they just got a new system. Outrageous! Also questionable, there was a 16% IVA (value added tax that is rarely added onto a restaurant bill in Mexico) and a mysterious $50 peso charge - for what??? So, this is a hip looking beach bar that will rip you off if you are not carefull (in fact, even if you are careful. What are you going to do, stand at the bar and argue about the 50 peso charge, the 18% tip and the IVA). This is the type of practice that gives beach towns in Mexico a bad reputation.More

I asked for a long island which was not on the menu and the waitrr told me no problem. I told him I was picky and asked how he made it which he respondwd with the correct alcohols. Drink came out fantastic. Besides the drinks,...staff is vsry fun and friendly, atmosphere can not be beat. Great cabana on the beach, a little music. Impossible not to be happy here. :)More

From the circular bar near the front stocked with characters from all over the globe to the relaxing day beds further in, this is a place you can head to any time of day. We spent a day out in the sun, we spent nights...nestled at the bar, each were great. Good menu featuring an evening special with a pina coloda that has 20 peso refills (dollar pinas, what can compete with that?) It gets live music from next door at certain times, and plays great music during the day otherwise. Highly recommended.More
