I have visited this Pub many times and even camped on their small campsite at rear of pub. Very handy not far to stagger after a few pints and a good meal. Meals have always been excellent have tried most of the menu including the Carvery which is certainly one of the best I have had. Situated on main Helston... More

We chose this place due to its reviews and reputation as we don't know the area thay well but how disappointed we were. Although the staff we friendly the carvery was shockingly bad, tough, dry, chewy beef, parsnips that were not cooked and hard in the middle, peas sat in water, cold spring greens, soggy stuffing, not stocked up well... It was a Monday, it was our wedding anniversary and we wanted lunch out. Stopped at 2 pubs, they did not advertise food, stopped at a 3rd - closed. Decided to have a nice drive, and quite by accident came across The Halfway House advertising food. The first thing we noticed upon entering the place was Proper Job beer, has... More

The Sunday carvery here is the best that I have ever tasted! The food is all home cooked and adds a few different flavours to your average Sunday roast. Highly recommend. My dog was so welcome here too!

Not normally a fan of carvery, but was well impressed with how good it was. I find the veg is the usual downfall with these en mass type meals, but have to say it was very good, and would recommend it to anyone. Pleasant staff, good service, and very good value.

Visited the restaurant to try the carvery as I had been told it was very good. The choice of meat and vegetables was quite good although some of the vegetables were a bit to al dente.

Four of us went to the Halfway House this evening. It was a nice atmosphere and staff were very welcoming. Our 5 year old went for the sausage and mash which she really enjoyed. Two of us had the chicken new yorker and the other had the gammon. All food was really well cooked and the portion sizes were generous.... More

Stopped on the off chance of finding a quick bite for lunch only to find that Wednesday lunchtimes were carvery days, a main meal and dessert for £8.25 each. My main meal was so good (and large) that I could not eat dessert, so I was given it as a takeaway!
