We stayed in El Ganzo for 4 nights and drove out each time for a dinner so for our last night we decided to take a walk to one of the local places where 'the locals eat" :) This is a super down to earth...place serving good food and drinks at a very affordable prices; don't expect fine dining experience here as you will miss what this place truly represents. We enjoyed it a lot and would definitely return if we had a chance. Unfortunately I lost some of my pictures but the smoked fish sandwich was to die for, my wife said that this sandwich it itself makes this place deserve 5 stars :) The seating upstairs provides really nice sunset views, there is maybe 4 tables nowadays so it's fairly limited.More

Our family went for for dinner at the restaurant and walked away thinking that it was very average, its definitely missing something. We dined upstair and had a great view of the marina sunset. Definitely bring mosquito repellent. We all got bit when the sun...went down. Positives: - Temp. check for all guests and the staffs were wearing masks. - Tables were spaced out appropriately. - Service was excellent and staffs were wearing masks - Drinks were tasty Need improvement: - The dishes were either bland or salty - Fresh seafood and ingredients but didn't seem to have that authentic Mexican flavorMore

The food was o.k... nothing special, nothing I'd go back to. Service was ok, not great. Prices were ok.

I am giving this establishment two stars - one for the authentic Mexican ambience and one for their margaritas. I cannot recommend anything else. We ordered basic items - grilled shrimp tacos and the carne burritos. Both were inedible. The shrimp in the taco were...not grilled - they were ice cold. There were three cold shrimp in each taco, piled under a handful of red cabbage. The meat in the burrito could not be identified as beef - it was grizzly, battered, seeded and fried chucks accompanied by red cabbage and slices of palm. Awful. Accompanying each was a bowl of luke warm black beans with a spoonful of cold rice under the beans and a fried plantain as garnish. The service was nothing special and was lacking in some basic hygiene - we did have to wipe down our own table before sitting down, as the server didn't do this. I wanted to like this place and sought it out after reading such great reviews. I would never go back, unless it was for the bar only.More

Wonderful little place in the marina! Visited twice on our last trip here. Highly recommend the fish/shrimp green ceviche - our kids literally licked the serving dish clean. Smoked tuna quesadillas were excellent. Fresh ingredients, everything prepared to order and a lovely location overlooking the...marina. Definitely worth the visit!More

We were on our way back from Santiago to Cabo and wanted to stop on San Jose for an early dinner so I read reviews. Not wanting the $$$ cost and good ratings we found the D.S. Great reviews, reasonable prices. We have been to...Mexico many times and appreciate the local culture...actually look for it. Great view from the patio upstairs. Local and expats alike. I had the shrimp with devil sauce...not bad. My husband is allergic to shrimp and the only other option was the "fried fish". It looked like burned clam strips. Disgusting. He tried to eat them, didn't want to make a big deal. I ate most of mine and we left. Just saying... Also...not even a hint of t.p....not there, nowhere to put it.More

I found this place because it was walkable from the hotel I was staying at and I go there every time I visit San Jose. GREAT service, food and generous pours. See you soon!

This place is a little hard to find. It’s quite small with not a lot of seating area, and the furniture is a little spartan, but it’s a great place for seafood at a reasonable price. Even though it’s hard to find, the place is...always full, with mostly local patrons. It’s located on the far side of the Puerto Paraiso marina and near the Hotel Ganzo. It’s not fancy, but the food is great, and folks just come there to gather and to get away from it all. It’s a place for folks who just want to be themselves and relax with some fresh seafood and a curveball.More

It isn't open for breakfast it opens around mid day.. I don't know if it's on East or west side but it is on the dirt road leading up to the big El Ganzo hotel ( that is currently shut whilst they put right the Ofile damage)
