Beware, you who need to know this...Last night, when my wife and I stepped out of our car in their parking lot, the co-proprietor of this restaurant immediately confronted us and rudely shoved a printed message in our faces. The message was in English on...a dog-eared piece of paper which looked like it had been used this way for at least a month. It said that the "... restaurant's credit card machine was out of order tonight...so they would accept only cash." He, surly as he could be, also read it to us and then abruptly walked away. We never saw him again assuming that we were complicit with his lie. All unsuspecting Americans visiting San Jose del Cabo should be aware that this scheme is fairly prevalent here--in restaurants, jewelry stores and gift shops. These guys hate having to pay VISA, MasterCard, etc. their fees. So, in spite of the fact that their advertising states that they accept credit cards and they proudly display these emblems on their doors and windows, they so often practice this deceit. Just carry enough cash to get you through a meal or shopping. Basically we love the Mexican people but you have to be aware that these things do happen. By the way, the food was mediocre--too heavy-handed with herbs and spices, flavors way unbalanced and rather over-priced for the quality. Service was solicitous and friendly.More

La Dolce is an amazing restaurant right next to the main square in San Jose. The best way to describe it is a laid back, very reasonably priced, upscale restaurant. I have been there 7 or 8 times, and have never had a dish i...didn't thoroughly enjoy. While i would recommend everything on the menu, i would especially recommend the fish carpaccio as an appetizer. They have indoor and outdoor seating, but i particularly recommend sitting outside. San Jose has a pretty hip art scene. In the streets in the downtown area (which, by the way, are very safe to walk), there are may art galleries. So i would recommend making an afternoon / evening of it: go early, walk around the downtown area looking at / buying art, and then have a fantastic meal at La Dolce. I will definitely be going back there on my future trips to Los Cabos.More

Wow! Great Italian restaurant in the middle of the San Jose del Cabo’s plaza?!?! Yes! We had excellent service from Martin and many other servers. Always appreciate a restaurant whose employees help one another to provide the best service to their clients. Reasonably priced too....Ok, so two of our party had raviolis and both were delicious! I had the smoke salmon and shrimp fettuccine, the sauce was amazing. I thought maybe the salmon was a bit over cooked but the shrimp was perfect. All in all, a great experience! The Art Walk is open now, and so fun too!More

My wife and I ate dinner here last night and it was wonderful. We are having the leftovers for lunch. We had two specials gnocchi and ravioli that compare to some of the best dishes ever. The house red wine was also very good.

This was a super excellent surprise when visiting San Jose and was the most delicous Italian Food we had in two countries in the past 10 years. A wonderful experience...

Great food and atmosphere, and wood fired pizza to boot. We had the special pasta which was ravioli stuffed with poblano and mushroom and a pesto sauce - excellent! They also made a calzone for my kids which was outstanding. Great place.

Located downtown San Jose del Cabo, across from church. Private walled courtyard leads to outdoor dining. Excellent Italian menu + wood fired pizzas.More
