As another traveler mentioned in his review, we expected more. If you read the back of the menu, the restaurant makes incredible claims about how great their sushi is. It was good but nothing special that you can't get just about anywhere else We go for food but will say the service was good and the prices very fair. Beautiful... More

I have a love hate relationship with this place. The food is so good and is why I keep going back. However the wait staff.... I realize it's fun times in Cabo but the staff is always so insanely stoned that they can't ever function! It never fails, at least part of my order will be messed up and the... More

We went to the Palmilla location in San Jose del Cabo. We had high expectations from friends who had eaten at Nick-San in Cabo san Lucas. It was very average. Some raw fish items covered in way too much sauce (which makes you fear it is covering bad seafood). Never had the feeling we were eating bad seafood, but wondered... More

Beautiful modern restaurant with great service and friendly staff. Our blackberry margarita was a wonderful surprise as was the house white wine - sauvignon blanc from the Valley de Guadelupe. We tried one of their specials as well as several of their appetizers and entrees. All made with fresh ingredients and loaded with flavors often not requiring traditional soy and... More

Don't be mislead by the title, the food is still good but I wouldn't consider this a great restaurant. The food and service was very good but the restaurant is not what you would consider a pretty place for a high end sushi restaurant. The seafood salad was good, as were the shumai/dumplings and the tuna on a chip. If... More

Note: I'm not a sushi eater but our group wanted sushi and this is the place according to those that ate....the sushi as fresh, fresh, fresh.....highlights were the tuna tostada, pacific mackarel, fatty tuna and unagi (eel)....for the none sushi eater I had vegetable fried rice and then had a specially made chicken goyaza that was outstanding. We sat at... More

I haven't been to Nik-San for several years but friends and I returned their last night. It was a disappointment. The sushi was, as expected, excellent but the cooked food was mediocre at best. My friend and I each had sea bass in ponzu sauce. The sea bass was over-cooked and dry. The ponzu sauce was extremely and inappropriately spicy.... More

With all the excellent choices in the Baja for dinner, we enjoyed Nick San twice during our recent vacation in the Cabo area. Our first meal we followed Fodor's recommendations that exceeded expectations. The Sea Bass entree was probably the finest I have ever tasted. At no time did any item served need soy sauce or additional flavoring. The presentation... More

We love the sashimi which is the specialty of this restaurant. Don't miss the sashimi cilantro, salmon yuzu, black and white tuna and whatever the special one is. This is for fish lovers who don't want the average "sushi" or traditional sashimi you get anywhere else. This is way more than "new school"- it's unusual and delicious and the sauces... More

We walked into Nick-San, sat at the sushi bar, and invited the guys behind the counter to surprise us. They did not disappoint. We had a total of 5 courses... none of which I'd ever had before... all of which we very good. I understand this might not be the most affordable place. But this is one of the better... More
