Have walked by this place for years, stopped in on a tip from a friend. A must have is their stuffed baked potato ! just WOW!, and the stone bowl, had to stop again the next night again before we left.
We had dinner at Guacamaya and Allen was our waiter. He was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. He had great suggestions for entrees. As odd as it sounds..you NEED to order the baked potatoe! I know, I know- but I've...never seen or had anything like (I actually didn't order it, my friend did- but it was amazing). If you want more Mexican food then order what I did which was AAHHHHMMAAZZING- it was a "Stone Bowl" and came with everything- steak, chicken, pork, grilled cactus and was crazy delicious! Soo much food and margaritas to die for! The strawberry margarita comes with a ton of fresh strawberry slices that make it seem like a dessert. Safety precautions were taken upon entering: shoe sanitizer, hand sanitizer, masks, temperature- felt very safe.More
What a great place ! Authentic food amazing service (Jonathan) and the prices were "almost free"! Off the beaten path and a great place to relax and watch the world go by ! Highly recommended
Can't go wrong eating at Las Guacamayas. Always friendly and delicious. Been eating here for 10 years. Have ordered many different items on the menu and consistently tasty.
Mezcal-rita is smoked, You're welcome, that just saved you $7.50 Food was pretty good, as were were all drinks but the aforementioned. Sergio, who said he was the owner, gave the time share pitch, we gave him the $20 deposit. He showed at the resort...the next morning with a younger guy with him, and passed us off to 2 guys in a van/taxi. I wasn't feeling great anyway, so I just called it there. said, just let me out. Worth $20 to not sit through it, as it was already turning shady. Really enjoyed the place, but we're unlikely to ever go back. We get plenty of sales pitchesMore
Las Guacamayas is your typical tourist trap with ok food and reasonable drinks but nothing authentic. The bathrooms are a disgrace for an otherwise modern setting they should be clean at a minimum especially during covid. They were quick to replace paper towels when informed...but it does not fix the infrastructure issues.More
Probably the best chorizo Tacos around (though the chicken ones were just ok). The salsa varieties were great and allowed a nice variety of different heat levels. I liked the serrano one best. My husband got the fried shrimp quesadilla and said it was delicious....Our server was Luis and he was great. Very patient with us and great recommendations. The only downside to the experience was the timeshare sales pitch that came out of nowhere after our meal while waiting for our server to come around so we could get the check. We are used to getting approached for timeshare presentations, especially in Mexico, but this one surprised us. Never in a restaurant while finishing a meal have we had someone pitch visiting a hotel for a timeshare. He offered $250, a trip to Puerto Vallarta, 6 nights in a hotel in Cabo, golfing, etc. We turned him down 5 times before he finally relented and left us alone. That sales pitch turned a great experience into a frustrating one that will likely prevent us from returning. It's a shame they allow that.More
Wide variety of food, many beverage options, quick friendly service. Following COVID safety protocols.
We ate lunch here and a guy named cesar Garcia claiming to own the restaurant set us up for a golf day at Diamante if we sat through a time share presentation. We agreed and gave him a $50 deposit and he never showed up...and gave a fake number. Do not fall for anyone asking if you golf, its a scam. Also, the food was just ok, the tacos at Tacos Guss are mutch better.More
