Arriving for our holiday in Ireland 2020, it wasn’t a hard decision to go the extra km to Farrens, where happily we were in time for lunch (though unhappily not in time for crab . . .) What a fabulous stop. The check was postponed...(for some time) while we absorbed the atmosphere, fortified ourselves with open prawn sandwiches that would feed two, and inhaled two long, cool, creamy pints of Guinness just like you remember.
Great staff, really friendly and, at this stage used to Dubliners losing the run of themselves raving at the landscape and the beaches and the views.
It was also brilliantly well organised and segmented with unobtrusive partitions and distanced tables, and all the sanitisation advice well adhered to. A perfect example of how to do it well without compromising the original spirit of the pub.
Needless to say, we returned. Go visit.More
Stopped by Farrens for an early lunch on a windy and cold day. Sat by a lovely stove to warm up. Food is great value and very tasty. Even played a few games of pool! This is the place to stop by when visiting Malin...head.More
It's a nice pub with lovely people. We were there pre-Ciara's storm and we had a nice time with them.
Best wishes guys, sorry we couldn't make it to Gallway in rag week! We hope to see you in Spain or when we come back...for a visit!!
Pat & Nelson.
P.S.: this pic will be a must be shown when we tell to our family and friends about our trip to IrelandMore
I came here with my life partner on our annual trip to Donegal and it certainly did not disappoint. We had coffee and it was so good I ordered a second cup. I also bought a t shirt and the man in the bar gladly...gave me cashback. I hope to visit again sometime.More
Went to Farren’s after walking around Malin Head on a cold afternoon. Lovely pint of Guinness while the kids took photos of the Yoda picture outside. The young girl behind the bar was very accommodating and chatted to us about the place and her family....Really nice place to chill out in.More
Brilliant bar with great service. Much better than Manhatta. Pints of Guinness are top notch and Scampi Fries worth their weight in gold. Returning in February with friends. Hope to hear some trad music. Lenny should have his stag there.
A must visit family friendly pub, does a great crab or prawn or half n half open sandwich, you won't be wanting tea, after this lunch, served with a forest salad and coleslaw, friendly staff and owner Hugh always up for a chat, a must...if in Malin Head.More
