People don't always get excited for a vegan restaurant, but this place does vegan at a whole new level! We visited with friends on a Saturday night, and everything was absolutely delicious! The restaurant was full, but we left to grab a drink nearby and they held a table for us for when we returned about 30 minutes later. Our waitress was pleasant and the food came quickly. The chips and salsa were fresh and very tasty, and everybody enjoyed their tacos immensely. We would definitely come back!

Wow what a place! I have been here several times and every dish is something spectacular. Tacos are magic, the flavors are unbelievable. Sauces very good and the gringa is the next level. Probably one of the best vegan restaurants I ever been. The staff is like your friends, the location and design flawless, every single ingredients with the finest quality, presentation of the food spotless. Drinks are delicious too! Well, I will definitely come back just to indulge at Don Taco Tequila.

Stopped in for a drink ended up staying for dinner. The vegan menu appealed after 2 weeks of traditional Mexican. We were super happy with the Quinoa and green salad and two tacos one with soy chorizo and the other with mushrooms. Did not miss any meat or cheese and the margarita Classico with mezcal superb! Very reasonable and I would eat there again

I am surprised by all the positive reviews here. I can’t say the same. The place is small, and we waited to be seated after having been given three different estimates on time. Service was quite slow and the server delivered my food to the wrong table. After having eaten it, the person at the other table realized and told the server who couldn’t care less. About 30 minutes later I finally got my meal, which was ok but not great. While this seems like an anomaly here, the completely apologetic stance and lack of concern stood out. I cannot recommend this establishment.

I just wanted some local vegan food, but what I ended up getting was easily one of the best meals I’ve ever had in my life. We had a wonderful stay in San Miguel de Allende, and our final meal was at Don Taco and Tequila, making a perfect finish to a beautiful trip. Everything we had was phenomenal, from the delicious drinks to the oyster mushroom ceviche, the salsa macha to the incredible tacos. Even though the place was packed, we had great service and everyone was super friendly, and you can just tell that the people there care deeply about every part of the experience. What a treasure!

Delicious. Amazing appetizers such as a cold cactus salad with garbanzo beans and asparagus, a corn soup with 3 types of corn and amazing non alcoholic drinks too. The tacos are delicious and we will definitely be back. Very creative vegan food. We loved it.

Started with the classic margarita that was perfect. The guacamole was definitely worth ordering. Also, ordered an interesting salad with mixed greens, quinoa, peppers and flower shaped avocado. There is an innovative list of tacos that would satisfy any palate. I will return to this spot.

Hurry up and get some tacos! Try everything. If you can’t decide, try everything with mushrooms. If mushrooms aren’t your thing, sit next to a local personal chef and enjoy her company and recommendations. Seriously! Just go.

We had two really wonderful lunches here during our week in SMA - it was the only restaurant we went back to. The things they do with mushrooms here are amazing. Very casual and comfortable with excellent food, great cocktails and friendly service. Just be careful with the salsa - all are delicious, but the spice level of one can best be described as hell fire.

I saw all the great reviews and couldn’t wait to try this place. Once I told my husband it was vegan, he was pretty skeptical. I got him to try it and WOW! We’ve never had vegan food so delicious, filling and flavorful. Their bar is also top notch! Great atmosphere, friendly staff. We’ll be back!

The menu is impressive, and the food it amazing. I ordered the Baja California taco (since I'm slightly obsessed with cauliflower) and the Doña Gringa with an Infusión de Jamaica (non-alcoholic drink). My partner got the Mafter Burger (Beyond Burget) and potato wedges (fries) with the limonata jengibre. Everything was amazing. The Doña Gringa taco was so big that I ended up giving some to my partner. The service was great, the atmosphere quaint & charming, and the price very reasonable. Would definitely recommend!

Our group of seven are all avid carnivores. We made a reservation not realizing that it was a vegan vegetarian restaurant. We debated about staying and agreed to give it a try and we’re very pleased that we did. The group had a variety of entrees and all received high marks. The cold tomato soup we my favorite. Margaritas, salsas, and guacamole were very good as was the service. Ole!

After a few days in Mexico City, feeling sad that vegetarian tacos were so hard to find, I was elated to get to eat vegan tacos at Don Taco Tequila. I had a mushroom taco, the cauliflower taco, and the pea protein taco. Every one was absolutely delicious! The atmosphere was cool, with great music and friendly service. I hope to go again soon!

Really it should have a 3.5 rating but only whole numbers are possible on this site.
The food was. nicely prepared and the servers were friendly.
It’s totally veggie so you can order away. Some dishes are healthier than others as some are very oily.
The big downside is that there are only about 8 tables and a counter. Since the place is popular, there’s a long wait of 45 minutes to 1 hour+.
Make sure you call way in advance to reserve a table and arrive on time!

Great tacos and great service. Wonderful location about three blocks from the main plaza. There are many wonderful vegetarian options. The papas al horno are a favourite, but all the other tacos we tried were also excellent. Highly recommended
