Really it should have a 3.5 rating but only whole numbers are possible on this site. The food was. nicely prepared and the servers were friendly. It’s totally veggie so you can order away. Some dishes are healthier than others as some are very oily....The big downside is that there are only about 8 tables and a counter. Since the place is popular, there’s a long wait of 45 minutes to 1 hour+. Make sure you call way in advance to reserve a table and arrive on time! Howard S.More

I am surprised by all the positive reviews here. I can’t say the same. The place is small, and we waited to be seated after having been given three different estimates on time. Service was quite slow and the server delivered my food to the...wrong table. After having eaten it, the person at the other table realized and told the server who couldn’t care less. About 30 minutes later I finally got my meal, which was ok but not great. While this seems like an anomaly here, the completely apologetic stance and lack of concern stood out. I cannot recommend this establishment.More

After a few days in Mexico City, feeling sad that vegetarian tacos were so hard to find, I was elated to get to eat vegan tacos at Don Taco Tequila. I had a mushroom taco, the cauliflower taco, and the pea protein taco. Every one...was absolutely delicious! The atmosphere was cool, with great music and friendly service. I just wanted some local vegan food, but what I ended up getting was easily one of the best meals I’ve ever had in my life. We had a wonderful stay in San Miguel de Allende, and our final meal was at Don Taco and...Tequila, making a perfect finish to a beautiful trip. Everything we had was phenomenal, from the delicious drinks to the oyster mushroom ceviche, the salsa macha to the incredible tacos. Even though the place was packed, we had great service and everyone was super friendly, and you can just tell that the people there care deeply about every part of the experience. Wow what a place! I have been here several times and every dish is something spectacular. Tacos are magic, the flavors are unbelievable. Sauces very good and the gringa is the next level. Probably one of the best vegan restaurants I ever been. We really enjoyed this. Last time we were here was pre-pandemic. Both of us feel they’ve upped their game. My margarita choice of guava and mango - con mezcal. Also I had the chili burrito and my wife the taco pastor and cauliflower taco. All...were Really good (the seitan taco not so much). Most definitely we will return!More

I saw all the great reviews and couldn’t wait to try this place. Once I told my husband it was vegan, he was pretty skeptical. I got him to try it and WOW!
