The coffee is great, be sure to try the hibiscus jam with hot bread and butter that is served as soon as you arrive. Their cuisine is very good in general and the eclectic and original decoration creates a comfortable and unique atmosphere. The prices are a little high but I always return to Rama. The service can improve.

Enjoyed dinner with live music from a Latin jazz/rock fusion band called Chilla Killa Wednesday night with some friends. The food was Mexican with a vegan twist but the music was to die for-no pun intended. Feet were tapping to the beat while we enjoyed our food and drink in an artsy environment in colonia San Antonio just down from The Rosewood Hotel on Nemesio Diaz. Looking forward to returning this Saturday evening at 7:30 to hear the band Chilla Killa again.

Tucked away on a side street only steps away from the luxurious Rosewood Hotel, we visited Cafe Rama twice during our visit. The breakfast was fresh, cooked as ordered, and the service was prompt (we were the first customers of the day).
For dinner, the chicken pot pie is highly recommended, and with side (bruschetta) and drinks, very reasonably priced.
Due to space limitations only two tables were available for outside dining, but the people watching is definitely worth the wait. Juarez Parque is a mere two blocks away if you'e looking for an after dinner stroll.

Cafe Rama had a moment many years ago when it was decent. I swore I'd never go there again, but a friend wanted to meet there for coffee. We ended up eating as we were hungry and what a mistake. I ordered the vegetarian pot pie. It came with the flour cap raw, not browned. When I put my spoon into it, it was cold and the tiny cubed vegetables were crunchy and raw. Zero flavor. I told the waiter that the vegetable were crunchy and raw and he just stared at me. Then another waiter came to try and figure it out with him. I asked him, "do you understand the vegetables are raw. This dish is supposed to be cooked." Still complete confusion. Why? The have no f.... idea what a pot pie is!!! I guarantee you this. Never once, as is always true in Mexico, did they apologize for serving me undercooked food. But make it my problem. I wish Mexico would get a clue.

$120 pesos for a small bowl of chicken soup that was so salty i couldn't eat it. Sat outside and there was no service. Had to keep going inside to get the waiter who was busy chatting with other employers. Very disappointing experience

I was looking forward to trying this place but quite disappointed. I sat at an outdoor table. No employees came out. The smell was coming up from the street sewer so I went inside and asked to be seated. The strange techno music was blaring. I moved away from the loud music but an employee ruined my mood by turning on a bright red neon sign that made my vision a blur. The food was just okay. The potatoes in the potato salad were undercooked. The green salad had a lot of brown pieces and no dressing. I ordered a beer and it arrived with a dirty glass. The waiter never checked on me once food was served. The telephone behind me kept ringing yet there were five employees sitting at the bar not helping customers. Sorry but bad enough to not give them another try. The place looked run down.

Found this place a few years back while waiting for Covid test results ( the centre was in the parking lot for the Rosewood).
At any rate I returned with friends for a lunch. My memory was accurate, the food was great as was the service.
Israel, our server was warm and attentive. Our meals were very flavourful and so large we took home enough for a second lunch.
The restaurant itself is a joy to be in. From the big tree to the various art items, it provides a visual yreat in every corner.
Prices are very reasonable.

Although the place looks really nice, the relation between “food vs price” is way off. $165 pesos for 2 eggs over 1 plain tortilla (we had to order the Beers and chews on the side) is way off... service was good but it’s an overpriced place...

We visited
Knowledgeable and attentive service. They take the customer’s needs into consideration and make great suggestions.
The food is fresh and tasty. Service is friendly and prompt.
Wonderful daily entertainment.
As someone who recently celebrated her 70th birthday, they could really use some more comfortable seating.
But we will be back for sure. Thank you!

Once again, a very special time. The setting is ideal and since it was cool, we sat near the roaring fireplace. The decor is quite eclectic and interesting. Our meals were exceptional: Chilaquiles and a very tasty fried chicken sandwich. Because it was morning, bread, butter, and jam were also served. We will continue to return to this beautifully located spot.

A cold, damp morning a few days ago and I was looking for a place near my hotel for an early breakfast (note: things in SM don't get started til 9:00 for the most part) -- Cafe Rama was a block away and opened at 8:00. I walked in and on the right they were stoking the wood fire, and on the left was the case with beautiful homemade pastries and cakes. Done! The decor is charming, eclectic, warm & welcoming. I had a delicious b'fast and am trying to get back for dinner before I leave. Highly recommend.

I love the space and the unusual, anti-communist, art. Thursday night jazz is especially great, as are their Margaritas.
What was disappointing was the lack of vegan options. There are some Very Standard choices of salads and veggie burger. These get Very tiresome to eat. So, I got the guacamole y totopos. They came with a mound f pork rinds 🤮. It is NOT hard to find a wealth of fabulously tasty vegan recipes on line (10,000+ I’d estimate). Many of these have such complexities of flavors!!

This rating is not for the the food, only poor service. My wife and I walked into the place on a Friday night around 8pm. Nobody greeted us so we sat at a table in the main front room. We waited for a while and an unfriendly server finally came to our table. We ordered two glasses of wine and then waited for a while. We could tell this was not going to be a good experience and finally walked out.

We have enjoyed 2 breakfasts and a late-night dessert here. Nice decor, friendly service, 2 inside rooms with tables, plus 2 tables with umbrellas out front. Chilaquiles, pancakes, orange juice, latte, chai, German chocolate cake were all good. Good service. Close to busy Ancha de San Antonio street but quieter. Close to Rosewood Hotel. Good vibe!

Pop art and big space made this a quiet place for dinner. Needs a more robust menu. We both had chicken pot pie because they were out of veal. Pastry buttery, sauce too rich for me. Drinks are a short pour though reasonably priced. Right down the street from the Rosewood, but I wish we had eaten at the taco joint across the street.
