My fiancée and I waited a bit less than an hour for a takeout order. It was also our mistake for not asking how long the wait for a table was, which happened to be less than takeout. One of the workers went down the...line asking for peoples order, so that once it was out turn we’d simply go in to pay and pickup our order. The actual churros were extremely small compared to street vendors or Disneyland churros. The taste was nothing special even for the ones with special toppings. Our drinks were ok as well, maybe because we got iced/cold drinks instead of hot. This definitely felt like a tourist trap spot given that we couldn’t find any other churro spot in SMA.More

After our trolley tour we walked to the end of the block for breakfast at Chocolates & Churros San Augustin. People are always hanging out the door at this small shop with only eight tables. As the name implies, they are noted for their chocolates...and churros, but they have great breakfasts, fruit platters and fruit drinks as well. I had the Hotcakes with bacon and one egg. My spouse had Eggs Benedictinos. We both enjoyed a cup of coffee with breakfast. You need to stop by any time of day or evening to sample their treats.More

They have a hot chocolate menu! We chose the Spanish which almost allows your spoon to stand up in it. It's a chocolate bar in a cup! Our preference for churros is hot out of the fryer so when they are cold, as they were,...they do not have the same appeal. If you are not a churro snob, you may like them better than we did. While the hot chocolate was excellent in the taste department, it was lukewarm, not hot. If you go in the evening, be prepared to stand in line as the place is not large and is popular.More

Delicious chocolate, we had the Spanish one which was like drinking a chocolate bar! Churros we’re good, but would have been better warm. Didn’t have food, but it looked good.

Churros and hot chocolate go together so well, and this place serves up the best of both! The hot chocolate was thick and creamy...great for dipping the freshly made churros in. Definitely coming back here again!

Chocolate and churros!!! Several types of chocolate (all amazing) with fresh churros which can be simple or filled with caramel,Nutella or chocolate. Soooo good. If you want other dishes they have burgers and some Mexican dishes but I can’t comment on those. Long lines sometimes....No credit cards accepted. Worth visitingMore

Interesting stop! Must get the churros for sure. There are 3 served with the hot chocolate for very little. You won’t be disappointed!

We passed by a couple of times and both times there was a long line of people waiting. Third time lucky, mid afternoon and no line so we went in to see what the fuss was all about. They are well known for their hot...chocolate and chocolate churros or at least this is what we were told or recommend but decided to go for two plain churros, a caramel one and a jam one. The plain ones were ok, the jam we did not like and the caramel one was good. The espresso coffee was also good. The decor is kind of interesting, the service was nice and polite. Would we go back? Likely not for the churros as we have had better ones elsewhere. If you are though a churros aficionado and you like churros with caramel (or perhaps chocolate) and you are willing to line up then you may choose to give it a shot.More

We stopped in for lunch and churros on a Wednesday afternoon. They were very busy and we waited for about 30 minutes before being seated in the small dining area. We ordered the Mexican Churros (cinnamon chocolate) and the Mixed Churros (combo white and dark...chocolates), as well as the meat empanadas. Everything was super tasty!More

I tried a hot chocolate with a Nutella churro and a regular churro. Everything was excellent. That hot chocolate was unique and the churros were hot and tasty. This is they must place to visit when you are in SMA

My favorite churros were the ones filled with Nutella. I also had a hot chocolate with half white and half dark chocolate. It is owned by a famous actress who occasionally visits the restaurant. The walls are covered with her photos and magazine covers. The...location is easy to find, just off the main square.More

Although they have a very simple mexican menu, the food is terrible. Churros is their best offer and they are no more than average. Decoration and maintenance of the place is also poor. Horrible music play list.

Delicious churros though ours were served cold which was incredibly disappointing. The hot chocolate portions are very large as well so be prepared to roll out of there! Earlier in the day there was a line so we returned later to check it out. Small,...charming and an overall sweet and inexpensive experience. Still not sure if it’s worth it though! If you’re curious, go for it.More

I had no idea this place was owned by a famous actress. Several friends told me to come for the hot chocolate and churros but when I arrived, there was a lot of attention to a woman in the restaurant that looked like the several...photos plastered all over the walls. I guess my claim to fame is getting told to enter the other door and get sprayed down by the owner Margarita Gralia. She was very nice and when I bumped my hot chocolate and spilled it, she had them bring another one. That being said, the employees seemed a bit nervous around her. The hot chocolate was warm, not hot. I would have preferred it “mad caliente” or a little warner. They are being very careful with Covid 19 and even spray shoes. I care on a Wednesday at 12:30 and no line and only a few other guests. Service was ok but not that friendly and warm. Efficient though.More

Got sick from drinking hot chocolate here. They do not use filtered water to serve drinks. The manager was rude and tried to tell me that I must be confused and wanted me to lie on the review so he does not get in trouble...with the owner. It was a bit shocking.More
