we were staying with friends, and they suggested we visited here for a meal, instead of one of the local restaurants. it was a Tuesday night, first in. a nice welcome from the owner. a very select a la carte menu. the service was good. and the food excellent in a typically French environment. all unhurried. by the time we left quite a few other diners had arrived.

Shellfish was excellent as starter and beautifully served on platter of seaweed and ice. Steaks were wonderfully tender and cooked to perfection. Excellent wine list. Waiter and waitress very attentive and professional

This is a nice restaurant, where VIP's like to go and have a good time, specially the one's celebrating the Festival du Film de Deauville.
Omar Shariff and the singer Adamo where at this place in the past as well as numerous other "people".
Anyway, cooking is still done with fresh products to give the best of the french Haute Cuisine.
Dishes are at some points a litle bit too much sort of new wave i.e. "Nouvelle Cuisine" like we were used to say back in the nineties... but that's ok.
Even if I like the more traditionnal cooking, I really enjoyed the various menus I ordered there in the past (about 5 visits a year).
The cook really found the right balance between Old style and New style cooking.
Service is good to excellent.
The dining room is old fashionned, with a touch of elegance, still according to the architecture of the beginning of the last century of this Hotel-Restaurant.
Pricing is according to the quality really affordable, we spend mostly about 40€ to 50€ a person (2 menus and one bottle Wine).
You'll have to pay at least twice more in the city, and won't have the sort of excellence the restaurant "Chez Marion" offers to all guests.

Last Sunday evening, we (a party of 7 adults) tried to get a meal in Chez Marion. Granted it was 20:40 when we walked through the door, but we were greeted by a most unfriendly gentleman who practically threw us out.. telling us the restaurant was ‘complet’ When in fact there were scarcely 4 tables occupied. He held the door open a urged us to leave...happily we spent upwards of 300€ in another restaurant round the corner. We would not go back to Chez Marion for all the tea in China.

Menu du Terroir, just 27 Euros for excellent local fish/seafood. Wide selection of aged calvados. :-)

Chez Marion is a charming hotel with an in-house restaurant. In tiny Franceville, it is the best option for better dining. Located within walking distance from the beach, it is decorated in an elegant, traditional manner.
No one spoke English and my French is abysmal, yet I still managed to have a wonderful meal. The waiter was patient and helpful. I had a delicious fish soup followed by a beef filet and concluded with an apple tart with Calvados. (Calvados is the apple brandy unique to the Normandy region).
If you should find yourself in Franceville, Chez Marion is your best bet for a memorable dining experience. Bon appetit!

We booked the half-board package, having the main evening meal and breakfast as our prefered option. Chefs complimentary starter, my scallops, my wifes smoked salmon, the fish of the day main course, the the cheese board and finally dessert trolley were absolutely divine.
( two dessert were offered the second helping ,' tarte tartane', was drizzled in a generous helping of 'calvados')
After a walk to help digestion we went to the bar for coffee, this came with little chocolate cups which madame filled with Calvados, then the owner came out came the Cavados again and a drink was offered. A very enjoyable evening made all the more so by the staff. The only downside was our lack of usable French.
Point to bear in mind this is a seafood restaurant and well respected and used in the town.
