The Alquimista has long been one of my favorites in Zipolite. Sit comfortably at the waters edge with your feet in the sand and enjoy the view and the stars. Always friendly people and staff to chat with, this is a Zipolite classic. One of the most romantic restaurants on the beach.

We came for predinnerdrinks. The place is nestled on a small grainy beach. The menu of drinks extensive, and cocktail fans will approve of the creative bartendering! Prices are higher, but with the setting and laidback superfriendly attitude, that is OK! Driving is not the easiest, and if you are not staying locally you might want to leave before dark,... More

The food was some of the best we had in Zipolite. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner here and didn't have a single bad meal. The mojito was hands down the best drink we had the entire trip. But nothing compares to the views and the vibe of being right on the beach in a mystical corner of Zipolite

Excellent food, breakfast lunch or dinner. Great service. Nice seating options, tables or couches or easy corner couch under the palapa, also a swing for fun! They moved umbrellas around as necessary for our comfort. Internet.

We heard bad things from 2 different friends who claimed the food was expensive, not very good, but the view and atmosphere was wonderful. So we went just to peek and have a drink and WOW! The place is spectacular! What a shame the restaurant, chef or owner are resting on their laurels. When you are number 1 and you've... More

The setting is quite romantic and can be served on the beach with candle light and by the "lit" rock! Food was very ordinary and tasted like deja vu! Service was good

Lots of friendly staff, and plenty of great choices on the menu. Had tuna for the first time in my life and loved it. My better half had the filet mignon done to perfection. Finished the meal off with cool key lime pie! Of course I like my margaritas and I would go back for another taste of everything. Actually... More

Expansive menu with everything from burgers and tacos to fresh juice smoothies and pizza. Tables right on the beach, which are especially gorgeous at night, as they light everything up with torches and candles. Perfect for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Recommend the fish burger - ask them to add bacon and avocado for something extra nice :)

Food was very good, drinks and red house wine also! Service was excellent, Leo took very good care of us, he was fluent in English! Perfect place for a romatic candle light dinner right at the beach! A little bit higher priced, but well worth it!
