The restaurant is in a lovely setting. We made reservations 3 weeks in advance as it was to be a special birthday celebration dinner and Javier was informed at that time of the birthday celebration. Two of us ordered tuna and requested it be very rare - just seared - it came thoroughly cooked through and not very tasty. The... More

Javier and Paco are amazing. They have successfully created a dining experience that is second to none. Having dined all over the world, it can safely be said that their creations rate as highly as any restaurant I have ever experienced. Paco can fuse together culinary creations that will scintillate your senses. The seafood is so incredible and fresh that... More

I was so excited to dine here because I heard so many good things about this restaurant. Unfortunately, we were underwhelmed. The desserts were memorable but that is it. The ambiance is great, however.

We have been going here for many years. The food is excellent, the prices good and service is great. You have to reserve before going. They no longer take credit cards but thats the case for all but two of the restaurants in Zipolit

Terrific restaurant quite literally off the beaten track. It's down a dirt road, up the side of a hill. Bring a flashlight if your walking from the main strip. The food was delicious! Coconut shrimp was one of the best I've ever had. I loved the little communal cocktail/waiting area where a good time is had by all. Wonderful way... More

Durning our stay in Zipolite we ate here twice! This was by far the best meals we ate during our vacation! You walk down a dirt road to find the most charming five start restaurant! We will be coming back to Zipolite and La Providenca very soon!

We ate here twice during our stay in Zipolite. It is located down a dirt street through the jungle just outside the main town. The food is outstanding and the service was exemplary. My wife had mahi-mahi one night and coconut shrimp the other nights. I had had two different version of filet and all our meals were outstanding. You... More

My partner and I came here with high expectations and La Providencia totally lived up to them. He ordered the steak which was generously sized and delicious, and I had the coconut shrimp (which I would have called prawns but maybe that's just a geographic thing) which was also outstanding. Our mains were around $160 each which was a bit... More

This is a really pretty, little restaurant. It has a magical feeling about it and a special ambience. The food is very good, not spectacular, and the girl who served us couldn't have been more friendly or accommodating. Perhaps I was a little cranky as in such a romantic setting, my girlfriend and I decided to delve into a conversation... More

My wife and I had dinner here last night. It was one of the best dinners we've had in a while. Definitely the best in town and it surroundings. Worth a trip to eat here. We had a tuna with "reducción de balsámico"=glorious. Coconut shrimp=great. Eggplant, shrimp empanadas...., everything was amazing. Great service by Javier, one of the owners. Great... More
