We visited the Golden Swan yesterday for Sunday lunch with our daughter and son-in-law. We had booked in advance, which turned out to be a good thing as later folk were being turned away who had not booked as there were no more tables available. We had a choice of three roast meats - lamb, beef and chicken - which... More

We came across this out of the way country pub by pure chance, whilst drifting around the area in our campervan looking for a place to stop overnight and see in the New Year. What a Gem we found! the great added bonus was they have a small campsite at the rear of the pub which we could park up... More

Great example of an ordinary country pub - ordinary in that it has no pretentions to be anything other than a decent boozer, catering for the locals, their family and whoever happens to be passing... The two things that sets the place apart is the camping field behind the pub and their food, which is plain and simple and offered... More

We didn't eat here but passed by and it looked so pretty we returned to sample a drink. We were out on a drive on a dull afternoon. Parked up in the car park at rear and were thrilled to find it had a small basic campsite. - We were in our camper van, and camping for a few nights... More

Have visited this pud twice in the last month and both times have been very impressed. A good range of beers, ales and ciders and some of the nicest pub grub I have tasted. The portions are huge and the food is really tasty and well presented. Really annoyed at myself for only discovering this little gem a few months... More

I cannot recommend this pub enough. It's a fantastic local for food, ale, sport and for those of us who no longer live in the area, a campsite! We have always felt welcome and never left hungry or unsatisfied. It's so refreshing in the current trend of gastro and same old samey chain pubs, to find a proper local pub... More

The Golden Swan has received a lot of reviews that fall outside the dining category in which it's listed. This is because - unless you happen to live locally - you're almost certain to only eat there if you're also staying in the campsite. Hence your impression of the restaurant cannot be truly separated from your experience of the camp... More

We decided to try out this local pub for lunch as my friend was on the lookout for pubs to recommend to his B and B guests. The landlord made a mistake with our order and double ordered one meal. We sent this back with the waitress but he then raced out of the bar to the garden where the... More

Enjoyed our short stay here. The EHU have now been extended into the field so that is an improvement. Only 500m from the canal and a short drive to Pewsey. 2km walk along the canal to Pewsey Quay where there is an excellent bistro. Very good value - but of course it can be because it attracts people to eat... More

Camped for a night at the back of the pub. Dog poo and manky looking dogs roaming the site. Owner not very friendly if you chat to him in the bar. Toilets and shower could do with more regular cleaning. Pub looks lovely and is in a beautiful area. Didn't try the food.
