Four of us went for Sunday lunch. The setting is a delight and this is a very welcoming country pub. The food is home cooked and the portions are more than generous. Those who had room for pudding were not disappointed by the choice or quality. In all very good value and well worth a visit.

Having visited the Golden Swan to camp overnight, we were disappointed to find the site littered with dog faeces. The pub dogs were also regularly begging for food, eating out of any containers left open and urinating next to our tent. Not at all recommended, especially for those with young children.

Service was slow and food was unremarkable. We stayed here for the weekend and camped to the back of the pub. The camping services where clean and well kept but only one female toilet between forty guests is not acceptable. The website asks you to keep all dogs under control and clear up their mess but the pub dogs where... More

A wonderful trip along the canal at Pewsey on a narrow boat was topped off by a plentiful and delicious lunch at this very friendly village pub just minutes walk from the canal. Would thoroughly recommend the food at this little gem tucked away in the countryside. We visited as a family group of 11 adults and the service, food... More

Always a friendly welcome, good pub food. Lovely village setting. If you come on the first Tuesday of the summer months (April-Sept) you can see us foolhardy Pewsey Vale Running Club members running our Time Trials. Such fun!

we were on a barge holiday and we did not plan to eat here but so glad we did, in fact we ate there twice. i had the lamb shank in Guinness gravy, the veg was cooked to perfection and the meat just fell off the bone, i could not fault the food. The wife had belly pork which was... More

We stopped here for Sunday lunch as a group of 4 and had a really good time. Sunday lunch is a selection of roasts rather than the full menu, but that wasn’t a problem for us. Good location, plenty of parking and a nice outdoor garden area to sit in before we moved into the restaurant. There were 4 roasts... More

I real unexpected gem. Very convenient for Kennet and Avon canal. Not only did we have superbly cooked food (I had a huge mixed grill, my wife had rabbit burger). We were greeted curtiously and thought the quality food was very reasonably priced. Good choice of beers cider and wines. Characterful building with plenty of space both inside and out

We booked in here for lunch. Its a nice English village pub, not rammed full of tourists but reasonably busy. Friendly staff, good beer and good food! We will be returning to try the dinner menu next time we visit.

A great village pub with good food and beer, friendly hosts and a good value campsite behind. Beautiful location, well placed for walking or cycling around the Wiltshire countryside and canal network.
