We went to lunch with my boyfriend, we were attended by Monse and Raul, really very attentive.
They brought us banana crackles with a cream cheese that was deli.
We ordered some shrimp gyozas, very rich.
Then we ordered sushi rolls (cosmo roll, tempura prawn and angry dragon) were rich, but I expected more for the price and for being a specific place of Japanese food.
I ordered a drink that was very delicious and the vibe of the place is very good!!

We had a great time at Rosa Negra when we stopped in for drinks and snacks! It definitely has American prices, but the attention was great! Especially from our waitress, Ari. She gave us great recommendations from the drinks and food menu, and the entire staff was attentive throughout. The food and drinks weren't just presented beautifully, but they were also tasty. The music was American party music, and got some groups dancing on the tables. Overall, a good time!

Before I start, it must be noted that my husband and I are in our late 50s. We picked this restaurant because we are big sushi eaters and this place looked like the best sushi in all of Tulum. The sushi was very, very good, but Tora is less of a restaurant and more of a club that serves food, and I will say that we are not their demographic in any way except financially. The restaurant is extremely expensive -- I think their cheapest sake bottle is about $230, which our server dissuaded us from because it is "not very good." Due to the loud, thumping rave music it was impossible to hear my husband at our little table of two. Some people probably like this vibe but we did not. We ordered a little bit of food which was all excellent, had a couple of beers, paid our hefty bill and quickly left. While we were eating, servers stood mere inches from our table, observing us, which was unnerving. I think they are trying to be attentive and they were friendly, but it was off-putting. Note: this place, like many others, asked if we were celebrating anything, and the reason is so they can bring out sparklers and make a nice Instagrammable moment for you to create free publicity for them on social media, which might be a plus or a minus, depending.

I had an incredibly disappointing experience with their service – by far the worst I've encountered. If you plan to dine here, be prepared for awful service and subpar food quality. Their focus seems to be on distributing sparklers rather than tending to their customers. My MoH chose this place for my bachelorette dinner with my group of 8 girls, anticipating a memorable evening due to the stellar reviews. Unfortunately, reality turned out to be quite different.
Upon arrival, we were seated in a lounge area with low tables meant for standing on with sparklers. Consequently, we had to uncomfortably hunch over while eating. To make matters worse, the table was soiled by people's shoes, which was rather unappetizing. Our time there dragged on for a total of 3 hours. We had to wait nearly 2 hours for sushi rolls - nothing was cooked so why did it take 2 hours? We repeatedly requested more water, but it took an eternity to arrive. The sushi rolls were brought out haphazardly, preventing us from enjoying our meal together. Some of my friends didn't even get a chance to eat as their orders were never served, yet they still attempted to charge us for those items.
After waiting for 2 hours, we decided to request our bill. We noticed that certain dishes we never received were listed on the check. At this point, our frustration was at its peak and we were eager to leave. There were no apologies or any attempt to rectify the situation from the server or manager, despite the clear fact that we were celebrating my bachelorette party. I proposed they take steps to improve the situation, such as removing a few items from the bill, but they refused. Instead, they had 6 security personnel surround our table, pressuring us to settle the bill and leave.
I strongly recommend saving your money and opting for Casa Banana instead. They provide delicious food and outstanding service, making for a much more pleasant dining experience.

Japanese restaurant that does not have sushi at 9 at night, nor did they have tempura or desserts. The waiters took the note wrong and were wrong on two occasions. We left for dinner with some beef skewers. I recommend that you go to another restaurant if you want to eat Japanese food or basically be able to eat.

For me, the restaurant is the epitome of a tourist location, incredibly loud (you really have to shout at each other) and very dark, which would all be acceptable if the completely overpriced food had at least been good! The risotto was overcooked, the vegetables dry and the tofu mushy, you shouldn't expect anything other than a lot of fuss about nothing. Even the desserts were mediocre at best, you don't even want to know how all the good reviews came about here.

If only I could put 0 stars, this place would receive that.
Terrible TERRIBLE service! If you're looking for a good dinner experience, do not bother coming here. They don't care to make it right for their customers & all they're after is your money. No principles or integrity whatsoever.
Came here for a friend's bachelorette dinner and they didn't seat us on a table, but gave us a lounge table instead. How were we supposed to eat properly seated in lounge chairs?
Waited over an hour for the first set of food to arrive & it took multiple asks & reminders for the server to bring the drinks we ordered. They brought everyone's food all at different times so we didn't get to eat together.
The food quality was horrible, rice on the sushi wasn't fresh. In addition, They completely forgot 2 of our orders and when we decided to cancel it, they tried to bring it last minute AFTER everyone else was already finished eating. They tried to still charge us for the food that was cancelled & tried make up for it by giving us free shots & kept bringing sparklers (which by the way, was so over done).
What a terrible & dishonest place, so disappointing.

This was a bait and switch. We walked into Rosanegra and were seated in Tora. We went with the flow thinking somehow we misunderstood the Latin Cuisine signage when we were presented with an Asian menu. Our waiter was a fun guy who readily admitted he didn’t know anything about Japanese food. Our meal was good, but nothing special considering the New York plus prices. The wait staff tried hard to the point of interrupting our meal multiple times, but had yet to master the balance between attention and unobtrusive efficiency. The place is vey buzzy with a good soundtrack, although the volume is enough to blow out eardrums.

My husband and I went to this restaurant to celebrate my birthday. They are from the Rosanegra group.
But think about regret having gone to that place. When we entered, all that was left was for the attendant to carry us on his lap. We ordered the food, they made several suggestions and such, they even placed the fan closest to us. The restaurant was not very full, in fact Tulum was half empty. We ate and asked for the bill. We shared a risotto and ordered a steak. My husband ordered a beer and I ordered a juice. They provide a complimentary cake to sing happy birthday to. This game cost around a thousand reais, that's right, R$1,000.00 a bill for the couple. When paying, he asked if he could provide services and such, my husband rounded up the amount, which gave him a tip of around 100 reais, just over 10% of the amount. You had to see the attendant's face, all he had to do was hit us in the face, he swiped the card and turned his back and didn't even say thank you. I thought it was a huge lack of education. We stayed for another 5 minutes, got up and left and no one came to accompany us. In other words, the service depends on how much tip you will pay. I know they make a living from it, but hey, we gave more than 10% of a bill that cost the couple a thousand reais. What a regret!!! With that money we could have done lots of other cool things in other restaurants.

Too much decor for nothing. The place has a very nice decor but the food is a complete disappointment. The presentation of the dishes is overboard and the simplicity and elegance of Japanese food is lost. The place is a theater with loud music and loud fans - oh and the sparkles mid dinner but come on for the price I expected fresher ingredients. If you like decor go visit it but if your goal is good food go to Kitchen Table or Nu Tulum.

Would highly recommend and will be back to visit again!!!!!
Had the most amazing experience in this restaurant. Carlos was our waiter and went above and beyond with the service.
The whole venue and staff where amazing and such a vibe. They gave us sparklers and had the whole restaurant on the same vibe sparkling around such an enjoyable atmosphere.
The food and drinks here are amazing I would highly recommend trying the king Midas cocktail if your looking for some fruity fancy goodness.
We ended up indulging on the picanha wagyu steak and it was an absolute pleasure to eat such an amazing steak perfectly prepared.

We got a very good experience. The restaurant looked nice, it was very loud almost like a nightclub but it was kid friendly. The bathrooms were very nice and the sink was made of rocks and they have mouthwash available in the bathrooms. We went there for my sisters birthday and the celebration they had was awesome they gave out sparklers to everyone and had a good dessert. The food there is some of the best in Tulum, I got the Ribeye steak and it had great flavor with an amazing sauce. I also got vegetables on the side and they were served very nicely on a mini grill. Not only was the food good but also the service was spectacular, we got seated very quickly and served nicely. Our waiter, Daniel was amazing. He did the best job ever, he got a flashlight to show us the menu and when the food was brought out he explained everything. Not only that but he gave us a free beach club pass for the next day.
The few things to know before going there: It is very loud and not the best place for younger kids, it is like a party with the music and the food is for less picky eaters, it has seafood options Japanese style meats and some sushi too.
Overall review:
5/5
Daniel is one of the best waiters every
The food was amazing
It was great for a birthday

This dinner literally made our trip. Highly recommend the hamachi and mushroom rice, but you really can’t go wrong. After just a few minutes of chatting, Daniel chose drinks for us custom to our preferences and knocked it out of the park. He went above and beyond showing us how our food was prepared and even recommending a distillery tour for one of the drinks that we LOVED. Will definitely be back the next time we’re in Tulum. You’re the best Daniel!

Hands down the best part of our two week Tulum trip! The food was amazing, the custom made cocktails (designed by the bartender for our tastes) were incredible, but the real highlight of our dining experience at Tora was our waiter Daniel. Not only was he beaming with positive vibes and great service, but he went the extra mile throughout our meal. Daniel explained every dish as they came out, gave recommendations when we were indecisive, and even introduced us to our new favourite drink—a local Mayan liquor made with honey and anise! To say we enjoyed our experience dining here would be an understatement. We'll definitely be coming back!

Tora is housed next door to a real party restaurant on the strip in Tulum. The menu is Japanese inspired, and actually quite good. As always in Mexico, beware - the portions are outrageous. I over ordered every day...
Tora was so dark (and I looove a cosy environment) that i couldn't properly read the menu, and it was soooo loud from the music, it sort of took away from the whole experience.
Service was attentive and good, but beware as with us they sent us all dishes (small and large) at the same time and it didn't fit on the table. They didn't think of sequencing the food, which took away from the experience again.
