Casa Banana is a really beautiful, cool Argentinian restaurant with modern delicious food, good wine and fantastic service. We were looked after by a lovely young English hostess (I think her name is Laura) and she was so friendly and gave us lots of insider tips for our stay in Tulum. This restaurant is at the more pricey end but... More

A group of us ate at Casa Banana a couple of weeks ago. The ambience is just gorgeous , very pretty lighting and some of the best music I've heard anywhere. The food was to die for - yes, it's a little on the expensive side - but so so worth every mouthful and they served me one of the... More

We went there more than once. We had excellent salads, brochettes, and meats. We might have try all the deserts as well. We haven't been disappointed once. Once we had a bottle of wine that wasn't good, strange test. They changed it quickly , no question of asked. There is also a nice cocktail bar. Staff is really nice and... More

The pros: The restaurant itself is very nicely presented a stones throw from uber trendy Hartwood. The menu is steak oriented. I'd thoroughly recommend the skirt. My friend had the rib eye which although tasty was very fatty. We also tried the risotto which was very tasty. The cons: the service was a little aloof and lacked genuine friendliness. When... More

Good points: very romantic beautiful setting and the food was v good. Bad points: service was lacklustre (asked whether the wine we chose was good, waitress pulled a face "Well...") and everything was London prices ie too expensive for here!

Food was not exciting and the staff was not welcoming. I stayed at a near by hotel and would bike pass the Casa Banana and some of the staff members would stare and laugh when I biked pass. Not a sensitive guy but did not like the vibe especially since I had a beyond mediocre dinner there the night before.

I live in Mexico and know what kind of quality is expected from those prices. The fried calamares were average. The filet mignon totally over priced and tasted more like dry roast beef. The whole fish was good although the sweet potato puree served with it, tasted like apple puree. The setting is romantic but I would not go back... More

Came here with a girlfriend, and we decided to have breakfast here. The food was amazing. We both had a smoothie and the Huevos Rancheros. Maybe a little pricey for breakfast, but the staff's service made up for it. I would recommend to a friend and I would come back.

Came here for the first time in January 2014 and we fell in love with it. Outdoors, set in the jungle, woodfireded outdoor oven, rustic, romantic, warm and inviting. Came again in August 2016 and it was even better the second time! Sat at the communal table and everyone was elated with their drinks and a meals.

Located across the beach road from Nueva Vida is Casa Banana Steakhouse, a Tulum dining hot spot. Serving up classic Argentinian style cuisine, the food here is simple, fresh and delicious. For breakfast each morning enjoy made to order coffee, homemade banana bread, and pineapple coconut jam. At night the restraurant gets busy and comes alive with it’s outdoor grill, known as “parilla,” and dishes are cooked over the open fire for all to see. The menu favorites include grilled to perfection steak, fresh caught fish, impressive salads, and a thoughtfully selected wine list. Don’t forget to try the handshaken icy margaritas, too.Open daily breakfast, lunch and dinner. We provide beach service for all guests of the hotel.
