The food at El Tabano was really good. I recommend arrive early because you can wait a lots of time for your dinner when the restaurant is busy. I like flavorful Mexican food and I found it here, very good food and drinks. It seemed like every other Mexican restaurant , but it is not !! El tabano is a... More

We were looking for a Mexican restaurant on the beach area to celebrate our anniversary and the owner at Posada Margherita told us about El Tabano .Since we were near by, the decision was not hard to make. Very authentic Mexican food, great atmosphere, good service. Highly recommended.

Stayed in Tulum only one night, Jan. 24, and ate at El Tabano on advice form Trip Advisor, and so glad we did! This is the coolest place we have ever eaten, for both the food and atmosphere! Really can't say enough about how much we enjoyed this place. It's an open air restaurant/bar, some of it under a palapa... More

We enjoyed our lunch at Tabano so much that we decided on dinner there. This time, the score was 5 -- the space gains a magical quality as the sun goes down, as the full service bar and ready-to-smile wait staff add to the overall great quality of food and service. So nice, we ate there for dinner twice. Reservations... More

The atmosphere was great. Wait staff just ok. The food itself was good but way to expensive for what you get.

We sat on a carved cushioned bench on the fringe of overhead cover so could look at the magnificent sky along with enjoying the ambiance of the restaurant. Really good stuffed chile and then slow roasted, spicy chicken and delicate fish for dinner.
