We turned up on a Saturday night but the restaurant was closed for a wedding - it looked beautiful with fairylights. We went the following night and weren't disappointed. There aren't any menus as the choices are all written on chalk boards. The food was delicious, fresh and home made - the kitchen was open plan, so you could watch... More

We had dinner here the first evening in Tulum. Without a lot of expectations we walked in. We discovered one of the best places you can eat at while here. The guacamole salad is just delicious and also the shrimps are tasty and fresh. The waiters are friendly and walk you through the menu if any doubts. Don't miss it!!!

Charming restaurant with great authentic food. Their menu is solid, with the shrimp in spicy sauce being a personal favorite. The wine list is spectacular, with a truly great selection of Mexican vintners and broad enough to satisfy varied preferences. During the weekend they also have a band playing live music. Service at El Tabano is very good and the... More

It was our first night in Tulum and we were just wandering around, checking things out. My girlfriend had read something on Pintrest about El Tabano, so we decided to pop in for a drink when we came upon it, as we were getting really hot. We sat down and, without us asking, the waiter retrieved a large fan and... More

I tried to go there for dinner with my Husband, the place was completely empty, we walked in, they told us we needed a reservation, we walked away. My husband has lived in Tulum since there were noone, he just hates to go to the beach since now they all become so pretencious, snoby and expensive. I guess we won't... More

I'm not the most touchy-feely person in the world but the food at El Tabano genuinely made me want to hug everyone who made it. The old Mexican lady chefs would have probably banged me on the head with a saucepan if I tried but I'm sure you will feel the need to compliment them on their work in your... More

On the Tulum "tourist strip" if I may call the road along the coast that. Open layout. Since it's not on the beach side, it tends not to get the sea breeze and stays humid. Spray on your insect repellent.. they had some at the bar as well. The mosquitos got us inspite of it! They do have a number... More

Food was great, staff were nice, was fairly quiet but still lovely. Casual dining which was fairly expensive but still worth it. We ate quite late so a few dishes were sold out, but everything we had was delicious

Omg, the roast chicken dish here is to die for, so much so I came back here twice just to get the chicken, very reasonable price of 170 pesos, but honestly, one of the most tastiest dishes I have ever had, I don't know how they do it, also, don't be put of by the lack of atmosphere, the food...
