I ate lunch here my first day in Playa and ordered chicken enchiladas. They were absolutely delicious- flavorful, filling, and not too heavy. Can't recommend this place enough. They do not take credit cards.

I had a huge salad, made Keto by Chef Karolina. And I had a couple of delicious Keto cookies made with Almond flour. Absolutely no sugar at all! And it was absolutely delicious. I plan on going back again. El Sangha-Rito has great food for...everyone and the prices are super!More

We stumbled upon this restaurant walking by from our Airbnb. We didn’t have any pesos and the money exchange beside was offering horrendous rates. The owner basically said “eat now, pay later!” He basically allowed us to fill our bellies then come back later and...pay him when we exchanged some pesos. I can’t speak enough about the service! They brought us a ceviche tostada while we awaited our food. My girlfriend said, “hands down the best thing I have eaten in playa”. We had the Mexican breakfast and the hot cakes were amazing. Super tasty and good portions. Everyone who works here is amazing and so is the food. It’s my new every morning breakfast stop.More

We liked the idea to have something healthy and light and were not disappointed. We had a large juice and the burritos with some guacamole and liked all of it. Prices are pretty decent for Playa and we'd definitely come back. Staff is friendly.

Best breakfast we had in all of Playa del Carmen, and were surprised at how cheap it was. Had a special Veggie omelette with beans, fresh cinnamon pancakes, Chorizo wrap, fresh juices and a BLT avocado sandwich on a croissant. Extremely tasty food that was...a fraction of the price of the money we spent on breakfast on the strip. Highly recommend this restaurant if you want tasty food that doesn't cost much, and will give you a taste of MexicoMore

Came here just after lunch on a Saturday. Ordered the Chicken Special and the Shrimp Special plus a couple of smoothies. The server comes back a few minutes later to tell us they had NO Chicken, so my wife chose Fish instead. Our drinks arrived,...them so did the server, again, this time to tell us they had NO Shrimp ! This was going from bad to worse. I asked for a Mushroom Quesadilla instead of the Shrimp. When the food arrived, the fish was OK but the Mushroom Quesadilla was Gritty as if Sand had got into it. Altogether a very unsatisfactory experience.More

I went to this restaurant 3 times for breakfast as my hotel sent us here complimentary since they didnt have breakfast available on premises... if it wasnt for that i may of skipped over this place...but i am glad i discovered it! Very good, authentic...mexican food. I ordered the same thing The Trio each time because i absolutely loved it and there chiliquiles!...amazing! they never dissapointed each visit. My bf ordered the pancakes each time. I do recommend this place to amyone looking for a good authentic mexican breakfast...they also offer fresh fruit juices! Only downfall was the servicewas a little slow....but very nice ppl.More

We were staying at the Elements Condo with Bric rentals right down the street and came here daily for the guac. We tried the guac in many restaurants in Playa but nothing compared to here. Menu is reasonable and the smoothies are good too.

Over the course of a weeklong stay in Playa del Carmen, my family and I ate here multiple times: a dinner, a breakfast, and a few lunches. The vibe is relaxed and informal, with covered outdoor seating. Service is friendly and attentive. The feel is...much more authentically Mexican than any of the places on nearby Quinta Avenida/5th Avenue. Most of the clientele other than us was Mexican (although not necessarily local to the area) but they do have English-language menus and the waiters do fine with English. There are a variety of Mexican specialties including tacos, quesadillas, dobladas, huevos a la Mexicana or rancheros, chilaquiles, etc. and an extensive menu of licuados (smoothies/shakes). Delicious homemade red and green salsas de tomate. One member of our group is vegetarian and they had quite a lot to choose from. All this at reasonable prices: I don't think we ever spent more than around 350 pesos for the four of us (US $20). Sangha Rito was a highlight of our trip - great for either a quick afternoon snack or a leisurely breakfast or dinner.More

Stopped here for breakfast with 3 adults and 4 kids. The pancakes were a hit with everyone. They have a variety of juices that they make fresh to order. The cup of coffee I had was very very good. My wife had fruit with yogurt...and granola with cinnamon. It was very tasty. The food and prices were very good and the service was friendly. We will come back.More
