Wow! How have I missed El Hongo? I absolutely love this restaurant. It is a unique place off the beaten path of the tourist area often only visited in Playa del Carmen. We were served a nice little pasta soup to begin the meal. I...More

Went with friends for brunch and were very impressed. The huevos rancheros were great but the best were the pancakes. Definitely the best breakfast we have had in our month in Playa. Not only is the food good but the restaurant also supports the community...More

The food I was served at El Hongo was absolutely delicious. The cafe supports a youth arts project so the surroundings are beautiful. If you go to Playa del Carmen please don't miss going to El Hongo

My husband and I enjoy off the beaten paths finds. Ones where the locals go, and this place was perfect. Cozy, eclectic, delicious and affordable. We would definitely recommend and come back!

Cool looking outdoor restaurant. Friendly servers, almost always crowded breakfast spot. I like their huevos rancheros and my wife likes their pancakes with sausage. A good mix of tourists and locals with fair prices. We visit every time we are in Playa

OMG this place was amazing! I had seen it on YouTube and didn't realize it was near where we were staying. We ventured out onto the unpaved backroads and came across what appeared from the outside to be just a small little store, but once...More
