Kava Kasa is currently being used as a donation based yoga space for visitors and locals! It is open to the public and has a 'Pay What You Can' platform. The teachers are great, many of them are bilingual. They have a big variety of classes offered and a complete schedule. 5 classes daily on weekdays and 2 classes on... More

We stayed in the Aventura Mexicana hotel and came to Kava Kasa to check out the donation-based yoga on-site. I went to a Vinyasa class and boy was it a workout! The instructor was brilliant and seamlessly taught the class in both English and Spanish. Just be warned, like most things in Playa, it's in a palapa and it gets... More

Great yoga classes everyday on a donation basis. Many different types to choose from. This is a very welcoming place. Mats blocks and towels provided. Check out a vinyasa class with Ticia. There is also a really fun market there on Tuesday mornings. Great teachers every day. I've been going to classes at different times and have been very happy... More

Excellent place in the middle of Playa del Carmen for practicing yoga everyday of the week with the "pay what you want (or have)" yoga. There are usually 4 classes a day and varies between Hatha, Vinyasa, Power, and Gin Yoga. My favorites are Power with Mariel and Vinyasa with Marie... Beautiful vibe sharing these classes with teachers and classmates... More

And enjoyed the manager - a happy place! The music and atmosphere are great. The service wonderful. It would be great if the hotel used this space for a happy hour with alcohol, and a place to mingle with other guests. There is no place at this hotel to socialize other then around the pool. They are missing an opportunity... More

What a find ! This place is tucked away from the hussle and bussle of main 5th ave. A great place to learn about and try Kava in a relaxed and friendly environment. The Kava has a interesting taste but defiantly noticed a nice feeling after two ! the smoothie range is also great. I heard the donation based yoga... More

I stopped into the Kava Kasa while staying at the Aventura Mexicana Hotel. I actually went to a donation only yoga class one morning and realized the class was being held at the Kava Kasa. Later that evening the Kava Kasa opened and I was able to try it for the second time in my life. Pretty good stuff and... More

Description
The only lounge in Mexico serving up traditional South Pacific organic Kava root tea. Enjoy relaxing music and games Tues - Sun 5:30pm - 11pm, Two for one Kava Tuesdays, local vendor market on Tuesday from 11am - 1pm and daily donation based yoga 9am & 11am. We also serve natural beverages & extracts, coffees, juices, smoothies, and light snacks in a relaxing, casual and friendly environment. We've got games, free wifi, and a great music selection.

Kava is a soothing drink with proven medicinal effects to naturally help ease stress, anxiety, tension, muscle soreness, and disrupted sleep patterns. The special anti-depressant components can fight the "blues" and cause one to feel happy, relaxed and content. The sensations one has when drinking Kava, in order of appearance, are: slight tongue and lip numbing, mildly talkative and sociable behavior, clear thinking, calmness, relaxed muscles, and a sense of well-being.
