I stopped in by chance, and chance smiled on me. I loved the toasted bread instead of chips. The onion empanada served as a perfect starter, and the chicken Caesar salad was great. Three glasses of vino blanco and some more toasted bread served by...the delightful Maya rounded out a great meal. Make this a definite stop when in Playa del Carmen. My family and I went there for dinner. The best meal I have had in a long time. I got the pink salmon and it was outstanding. They brought me a little cup of fresh squeezed lemon juice to pour over it. It was so...delicious. It was as good a salmon as I have had in restaurants costing 3 times that much. My family got the lomas sandwiches and fish and chips. They really enjoyed everything as well. It is such cool little restaurant on a quiet street with no blasting music. We could actually carry on a conversation without screaming. Don't miss going to Cafe Orange.More
Empanadas at Cafe Orange, on 30th Street between 25th and 30th Avenues. We ordered them baked, but they are available fried as well. Yummy!! We had the Arabic ones and the Caprese ones, accompanied by Bohemia Obscura and a glass (or two ) of Malbec....Prices are very reasonable and the ambiance is very cute!More
We found this gem just around the corner from where we were staying! Decided to go there for breakfast and so glad we did! Fresh orange juice to start from our lively waitress Coco! I ordered the Spinach and cheese omelette and it was huge...couldn’t eat it all! Hubby had the pancakes, bacon and eggs both plates were huge portions! Love this spot off the beaten path so prices are reasonable and lovely ambiance! While in PDC check it out!More
My husband and I had a great dinner there! We tried 6 different empanadas and all were amazing!! The chicken and Mexican were are favorite. It was nice that you have a choice of baked or fried, we chose the baked and were not disappointed....It’s a small cozy restaurant great for people watching! As we were sitting there it started to pour….not stopping well after our dinner was finished. We were looking for a taxi when the owner so graciously offered us a ride to our condo! My family and I had a very nice time here. We sat a table with comfy bench seating which my young children loved relaxing on. We ordered several empanadas which were all delicious (the cheese and onion one was the best!). I also had a...tuna steak with awesome, fresh vegetables. This restaurants is in a very charming neighborhood. We grabbed ice cream across the street when we were done which the kids also loved. The servers were very, very nice. Highly recommend. We also loved the owner’s sweet dog which took a little nap inside while we were there. :)More
We stumbled across this neat little cafe for breakfast. Service was friendly and quick. We tried omelette and hot cakes, cafe and mix juice - all delicious.
They only have six tables with 2 servers and a very basic breakfast took us an hour. They also messed up my wife’s order (she asked for no ham in her omelette, but it came with ham) and missing another thing she ordered a coffee....Really? The order was super clear and at a very slow pace and you still can’t get it right? Come on. If you live or staying near by then ok, but don’t go out of your way to come here.More
Terrific, inexpensive food with great service. We've been coming every year for several years. The owner remembers us each time. Authentic empanadas are a must-order, but other items on the menu are also very good, and the owner/chef is a gifted saucier. We're looking forward...to dropping back by for dinner again next week!More
We walked by this restaurant at dinner time and it was so cute, I had to check it out on TripAdvisor. The reviews were very positive so we tried it for dinner. We ordered a selection of empanadas, and we were thrilled that they were...very authentic and delicious Argentinian style empanadas...made fresh and served hot. The cost: 30 pesos each. I also had a delicious salad...besides the normal salad ingredients, there were strawberries, pecans and Roquefort cheese....$100 pesos. My husband had beef wrapped around grilled vegetables. $120 pesos I think. On certain evenings , they have a promotion for $170 pesos....3 course meal, including a bottle of water. Choices include salad or soup (yummy zucchini soup), chicken with mustard lime sauce or fish in parchment, but they use foil, and crepes with chocolate sauce or dulce de leche for dessert. Their menu includes pasta, other main dishes, salads, pizza, Argentinian sandwiches and so much more. The service is very friendly as well.More
We had brunch here & loved it. The chicken chilaquiles were extremely tasty. Also had an omelet, hot chocolate & coffee. Plus a complimentary bread basket with fresh jam. Everything was around $18 USD. The servers were extremely kind despite our broken spanish. This is...a cute gem, away from the hustle & bustle of 5th Avenue. Worth the walk to get there. It was our last morning in PDC and were looking for a good breakfast place. We had been to Chez Celine, and were disappointed with the food despite the great vibe. I found this restaurant on Yelp, and we decided to give it a try....It is a tremendous value. Our entire breakfast, with tip, was less than $14 USD. We had two coffees, two fresh carrot/orange juices, two fruit plates, two entrees, and a complimentary basket of toast and jam. We both ordered the Mexican chiliquile combo and both thought it was great. Lovely service and nice island vibe. Give it a try! Great value!More

Excellent breakfast - amazing prices We came here after a disappointing experience off 5th. Getting only a few blocks off the main road was enough to have a completely different experience.
