Lovely food, probably the best we ate in playa del carmen. The mixed kebabs were enormous and delicious. The fish tacos were very cheap and 2 were enough for a smaller appetite. A meal for 3 with drinks was around 500 pesos ie £20! Incredible value for such good food.

One of our favorite restaurants in Playa that we have been going to for many years, and it never disappoints. The food, staff and service is always great! We ate there a few times this year, but also because of Covid, had them deliver to us...AND the food was still hot when we got it! One of our favorite meals continue to be the seared grilled tuna served with grilled vegetables and a salad. I also love their rice and seafood dish...it is made with the same broth (flavors) of their seafood soup; it contains so much seafood and I don't remember the price but it is something like 175 pesos. I'm already looking forward to going back next year! Oh yes, one more thing...their wine is nice, as is their large beer (a bargain!)

We came to playa 7 years ago and when we found out one of our favorite local restaurants that served the best season closed, we were devastated. Then someone recommended this place and this place met our expectations! There might a some wait time to get in but totally worth it. We started with the shrimp and guac and got the seafood rice and grilled octopus. It was amazing! Sooooo good and the sizes are pretty big, enough to share. Highly recommend this place and will be coming back here soon 😍

We dined at Chiltepin Mariscos last night after the restaurant we were looking to try nearby was closed and it looked like a nice atmosphere. At first the service seemed friendly and fine but after the server brought and opened the wrong beer and didn’t want to replace it with what we ordered it went downhill from there. We asked about the whole fish and if it was fresh and were told it was their specialty and yes very fresh. What arrived was a big platter that at first looked pretty good but we quickly realized that this fish had obviously been cooked at least twice and it was dried out and overly charred on the underside. They seem to have tried to hide this dried out fish with all kinds of garnishes to cover it up as you can see from the photo. It seems they had fried it earlier as described and then put it into the grill to try and revive it and pass it off to a late gringo customer. There are several reputable and very good fish and seafood restaurants in PDC but this is not one of them.

Terrible service, seriously made feel unwelcomed, even after waiting over 30min just to get in. Had to stand up twice just for a waiter to notice us, and worst thing is that 4 available employees were chatting at the bar. The main attraction is the abundance of every dish, then again, taste is below average. Had big expectations for the long que outside but no, not worth itnto go back.

Tastes so nice we ate there twice and probably more before we leave. Delicious seafood options with a variety of sauces including a tasty habanero option. Fish tacos were awesome. Some tables have fans to cool you on warmer days, service was friendly, attentive, and we were served a small cup of fish soup as a complimentary starter.

Overall, really bad food. Friendly but knowledgeable or dishonest staff. If you are looking for a good seafood dinner, go somewhere else! We were very disappointed with the food and service here and didn't actually finish any of the plates we ordered. Though the service was quick and the staff very friendly, all of our questions we asked about the food ahead of time were answered by what we wanted to hear rather than with what we were actually going to get. Honesty would have gone a long way! We asked about what was fresh/local and we were told "everything". We listed a few things from the dishes we wanted to order and were again told that it was all fresh/local. Including the salmon (which can't be local because there are no salmon here). So we knew right away that we would have no idea what was actually going to be fresh (let alone local). I will say that the bacon wrapped shrimp were really good (hard to mess up anything bacon wrapped) but the cold mashed potatoes (out of the fridge cold) and other toppings were not great. The tuna (both the steak and hamburger) were just really bad (salty, really odd flavour, and didn't seem fresh at all), and the skewers (salmon, chicken, octopus and shrimp) were also pretty poor. The shrimp and octopus were ok (not great) and the salmon was really bad. To top it off (it's currently mango season and we've been eating amazing mangos), the mangos that came with the skewers were practically unedible! Even our 3 year old (who loves mangos) spit them out right away.

This place was just a few blocks from our condo and we tried it the first night. Food was delicious- coconut shrimp, fish tacos, nachos, everything well prepared, tasty and fast. Very reasonably priced dinner for three with cocktails.

The seafood options here are excellent and the price is fair, not extra charges and everything is posted. I noticed that some terrible rated posting are complaining about "raw" tuna, but that is the dish and the way it is supposed to be. I worked in the area for about a month and ate here several times, never getting sick. I recommend the "raw" tuna tostada if you like things like sushi or seafood in general.

Our first time here. We ordered the large seafood stew (which is a soup) and 3 different tostadas to share. Wow! Really big portions, delicious and reasonable prices! Staff were all very friendly and helpful. This restaurant is consistently busy and we know why! Yummy!

Took my wife to this restaurant last night. We come to Playa very often (2 to 3 times per year for 6 years now), ate out most of our days here. We probably know every restaurant on the 5th ave. If you are looking for a nice experience off the 5th this should be it. Pleasant atmosphere, excellent service, delicious food, live music (Saturdays). Mostly sea food but there are other choices if you are looking for a burger or tacos. I would recommend this place to everyone.

Amazing seafood! Great drinks and prices. Shrimp and guac was big portion along with fish filet meal . Recommend coconut shrimp and seafood soup, it was loaded with seafood! Be prepared to have a wait, it is popular!

What a great restaurant. Large and great for families or gatherings requiring space, but what you go for is the food. Extensive menu, great bar and very fair and reasonable pricing. Everything we had is excellent. Started with a small mixed Ceviche, which was huge and great, filled with fish, shrimp, calamari and pulpo. We had tuna sashimi tostadas, tacos, and the most amazing grilled pulpo which cam with roasted potatoes and was a very large portion. Service is excellent, drinks are very good and just can't think of enough good things to say, except GO!!!

After walking past this restaurant for the past week or so and always seeing it packed and with people waiting outside, I decided to give it a try. Within a minute a waiter arrived to ask me what I wanted to drink and that was good. But once that was done it took over 20 minutes for someone to take the dinner order. Ordered the taco de pulpo for an appetizer and the camarones de coco for my main meal. Then the wait began. Waited 45 minutes and guess what? The appetizer and main meal arrived at the same time. Taco was tasty and the shrimp were good but someone should explain to the staff that an appetizer is meant to be served before the main meal, not with it. I did notice that despite the restaurant being packed, there didn’t seem to be many plates being brought out of the kitchen. That may explain why there is always a wait to get seated. Or perhaps it was a short staff night. Waiter not overly friendly and when I handed him my credit card as he was punching the total in the machine, he asked 15% or 20% tip. I usually tip 20% or more but felt that 15% was adequate considering my experience. Go as the food all looked good but be prepared to wait.

If you want to taste the freshest seafood where the locals go, this is the place. The food was so delicious especially seafood rice and the grilled octopus. The service was excellent and the place is so busy. The price is so reasonable and I liked the ambiance.
