There are not many craft beer options in Playa, but this one is good. The server was also really good as well. We had the Session IPA, the American Pale Ale, and the Kolsh. They also had a couple of other IPAs, a Brut and...a White, as well as lager, stout, porter, etc. (too hot to try the latter 2). It is 2 for 1 beers from 1-5. Try the tacos (we loved the shrimp, my son like the pork with pineapple habanero sauce). We went back a few time during our stay. It is also on 38th with is a great little calle.More

Great find. Right off of 5th Avenue, but not the ‘normal’ tourist crowd. Great craft beer and good small plates. Reasonable prices and good service. Try the sampler if unsure of what type of beer to order. Would highly recommend.

The restaurant it located on calle 38 a short distance from 5th ave. As you would expect they brew and sell only their craft beer. I prefer German beer so I had their Marzen. It was great. I also had shrimp tacos that were stacked...high with shrimp. The staff is excellent.More

Had their beer at a restaurant and had to find the source. They have numerous beers on tap. Try the white IPA. Scrumptious. They do serve food here and have comfy seating indoors and out front.

A nice setting, with in and outside seating away from the hustle of Quinta Ave. The main attraction is the beer and we enjoyed many APAs, mainly in the happy hour, which made them more affordable and the lack of a crowd at that time...made it all the more enjoyable. The beer is draft unlike most other craft beer available locally. You need to buy some food under their licensing regs but the guacamole was excellent. Worth a visit.More

Stayed at a resort in Playacar and needed a craft beer. Prayers answered. Used to be Akumal Brewery but changed the name. Beer is great and Annabelle is awesome! Do not miss this stop in PDC!

Wide selection of delicious craft beer in a great location- right off 5th Avenue and next to a cenote. Food is also yummy. I recommend the esquites (corn covered in cheese).

We ventured out of the resort area of Playacar in search of some craft beer. Thanks to other TripAdvisor reviews we found this gem. The beer was amazing- and being from Wisconsin we know our beer! The space was beautiful- gorgeous outdoor area and cozy...indoor seating. The service was stellar - Ely was knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. We liked it so much we took another trip later in the week.More

I have stopped in twice. The first time was at the end of happy hour where you get a large beer for the priced of their small beer. It was raining out so must of the tables were full so the hostess/waitress made room for...me at the end of the bar. A great place to chill and have a beer.More

We searched for a craft brewery during our time in Mexico. Found it!! Being the beer snobs that we are this place far exceeded our expectations. They are a true craft brewery. Go ahead and just buy another suitcase to bring home all of the...tasties!! The food and service are both just as wonderful.More

My friends and I stopped here a few times when visiting PDC. This place had some good craft beer which isn't always easy to find in Mexico. Service was really great. Everyone there was super friendly and made us feel welcomed and wanting to come...back. The atmosphere is also cool.More

This is the best craft brewery and taproom I have found in East Mexico. The beer selection is fresh and you cannot go wrong with any of their offerings. They have started collaborations with other local breweries and I highly recommend checking them out anytime...you are in the area. HUGE shout out to Mafer and Ivan!!! Please continue to do what you are doing! This is a place that is a must stop for me anytime I am in Quintana Roo. Please note: They have live sports on as well as some amazing tacos to munch on while drinking! Cheers!!More

My home away from home. As a lifelong SoCal resident, craft beer is as common on my table as wine would be in Italy, which made my time in Playa del Carmen both enjoyable but a real struggle to find a Cerveza that I could...enjoy with dinner an almost insurmountable task. That was till I discovered the local craft brewery Chela de Playa on Calle 38 & 1a Norte. I’m slightly unashamed to say that I visited just about every day the month I spent in Playa. The servers, especially Maria & Stephanie, we’re first-class and a huge asset to the patrons in helping decide which beer would compliment every meal. The beer was stellar, my favorite was the White IPA, and the atmosphere was so comfortable you could easily spend the entire evening relaxing and having an enjoyable time. And if you get hungry, I recommend the torta, and you cannot go wrong. SaludMore
