What can I say, I was not expecting much except for the welcoming and homie vibe, then the food came and it was way beyond than what I was hoping for, simply amazing, we ended up ordering more than we could eat. We met the...owners and chatted for a few minutes with them super nice and cordial. Highly recommend the Rasta Noodle Pasta with shrimp, the Kale Salad, I didn’t try the chicken because I don’t eat it but friend and hub said it was pretty good. We’ll be coming back next time we visit.More

Staying around the corner, we passed this place multiple times and it was always crowded. Decided to stop in last night and boy, we were glad we did! Food was great as was service. Not a lot of seating but worth the wait…

Great food, good vibes and good music. This place has authentic Jamaican food just a block over from 5th street. They play reggae music which makes the Jamaican vibe feel even more authentic. The owner greeted us and asked how everything was. Good communication in...making reservations (highly recommended). You can reserve on Facebook or WhatsApp. I’d visit again.More

My partner and I came here on our last night in Playa del Carmen before flying back to the States. The restaurant was easy to get to (only a short walk from the hotel) and was a nice change from the resort experience. Service: The...service was great! Even though we didn't have a reservation (oops), there was minimal wait time to be seated and then the wait for the food was nothing unexpected considering how busy they were. I only speak/understand a bit of Spanish, but that wasn't an issue since the staff were able to serve in both languages. Whew. Food: I definitely over-ordered lol, but it's hard not to when the menu and pics look so good! Two of us shared (and "mostly" finished) the jerk chicken tacos, mac and cheese, dumplings, beef patties, and kale salad. If/when I come again, I would probably skip the dumplings (I was excited to try "street food" but they turned out a bit dry for my liking) and downsize the salad. Environment: Loved the music and the ambiance of Rockas, and I was pleasantly surprised to see the Canada memorabilia. The only downside (though perhaps not in their control) is when the street performers came by; they were objectively good, but their music and the music/sounds in the restaurant were conflicting so it sounded like one was trying to overpower the other. Excellent experience all around and I would be keen to come again the next time I'm in the area.More

Genuinely had the best jerk kitchen I've ever had, fair sized portions, good quality and attention to detail. The owners know how to be warm and welcoming and they deserve all of their genuinely brilliant reviews. They were cash only (unsure if that's just now...or all the time) no big deal though, they let us know before sitting down etc. Genuinely couldn't care less though, was a brilliant meal!More

We stopped in for their Amazing Rum Punch and meat patties one night. We had already had dinner but wanted a Great drink. It was Great to see Marvin and Stephanie again, as we were there a few months back. We went back for dinner...on my Birthday only to find out they were closed on a Tuesday. We were bummed but went back the next night. My wife had the Fettuccini and I had the meat patties and Jerk Chicken! I'm not really a Fettuccini man but this was Amazing! The Jerk was Great of course as were the patties. After our dinner and drinks we talked with Stephanie and mentioned us missing them on my Birthday. She bought us another Rum Punch. Those drinks are Awesome and Strong! Thanks again. Marvin cooks up some Amazing Authentic Jamaican Food! A must place to go!More

Ironically we had just been to a Jamaican Jerk Festival in Florida... The jerk chicken here? No contest! Way better... In fact my wife and I were joking that maybe it's over hyped? We were proven wrong... We immediately were greeted by Marvin and we...had a brief conversation about reggae music LOL... The man understood customer service and as we soon discovered FOOD. I may almost venture to say that the jerk chicken we received was the best I've ever had flavor-wise... The ambiance was really nice, though I believe that they should play more reggae...being a fan myself... FYI. My friend... Raging Fyah is a true force of reggae music!!! Perhaps I can convince them to come play in the Mexican Riviera soon!!! LOL Great value! Great Food! An owner who cares? What is not to like? Ayre!More

I wanted real jerk chicken so myself, my wife, and two friends ferried over from Cozumel just to eat here. It was soooo good that we couldn't wait to go back. After about a week we all did it again and brought 3 more friends...with us. The food is great, the atmosphere is great, and the owners are even better. Do yourself a favor and try this place out. I suggest the Rasta pasta!!More
