Amazing food and great service. Positively different compared to the mainstream stuff in Playa del Carmen. Food is fresh, surprising and great flavors.

We had dinner here on a random Monday night. It was remarkable! We came back the next night for cocktails. Abrahama, behind the bar, did a fantastic job. Do yourself a favor and have the burnt quava cocktail, so good! The staff is super accommodating...to food allergies, and will adjust the menu to make your meal awesome!More

Best meal in Mexico. Great food, great cocktails, cool ambience on the corner of 10th Ave just off the main strip. We went with a group of friends and were able to share almost everything on the menu. Everything was delicious.

When we come to Playa we frequent this place. The meat is always cooked perfectly, the service is friendly, the mixology is fantastic. It's the highest quality food you'll find in Playa hands down. They source from local farms and providers. We cannot recommend this...enough. The bone marrow, duck, brisket - all amazing. While you're here, try a fantastic mezcal drink.More

I have eaten at many fine and not so fine restaurants around the world and the meal that I had at Primo ranks in the top 10, possibly top 5 of all time. First and foremost, the service was exceptional (unfortunately, I cannot recall the...name of my server). Started off with a cocktail that my server suggest which was rum based with some other ingredients and an infusion of cilantro - easily the best cocktail I have ever had. For the appetizer I had the salad - simply amazing with the pumpkin seed dressing. For the main I went with the pork belly with potato puree - wow, just wow. I ended the evening with a 2nd dessert cocktail with an espresso base. The flavors in everything were perfect. I cannot recommend Primo enough and will be going back the next time I am in Playa del Carmen. Beyond reproach!More

We thought the food here was great. The seating is outdoor only and rustic, but watching them prepare food was fun. When the bill came, it had a 16% IVR line added. This is an fake tax scam, somewhat common in PDC. We typically tip...20% so it didn't matter enough for us to argue. When the waiter asked for a tip, I said that it was already included in the IVR. He argued that IVR was a government tax, but that's not true. No other restaurants in Mexico ever charged us a tax, and it wouldn't have been 16%. I just paid it and left no additional tip, but make no mistake, this is an intentionally deceptive practice and is likely illegal, so I have to rate this as a "poor" experience. Shame too because I would have rebooked for the food alone. If you can overlook the integrity issue, and enjoy it for the food, have at it.More

We visited this restaurant on a recommendation from a friend who recently went here. This place hits all the notes. After we sat and had a few sips of our delicious cocktails, we could see there was an intentional art behind the rustic and minimalist...design and decor. We realized we were in for an especial and unique experience. Everything from the food, decor, music, and ambiance reflect the cohesive and well executed craftsmanship of its owners. The staff is very attentive: Alex our waiter was very friendly, and made us feel extra special. The artisanal cocktails he prepared for us, were sooo good. We are visiting again before our trip is over. This place is simply a must.More

Primo was an amazing experience. A welcome relief from the hustle & bustle of 5th Avenue, the staff are focused on the best customer experience, making each person feel special. Alex our waiter showed us such individual care and curated amazing cocktails at out table...with true artisan care. The food was amazing, I savored every mouth full and had to hold myself from actually licking the plate. This is a true gem of a restaurant where the staff go about their culinary creation with a much deserved and unashamed confidence in their product. A sensational night out and an absolute must go to on any visit to PDC.More

The food and service was amazing. The atmosphere was great. The server took the time to explain the dishes to us and the processes involved in making them. The duck was as good as I’ve ever had!!

Wow! Absolute perfection!! This is a gem, I almost don't want to write a review, because this place is so special I want to keep it a secret :) Reservations are a must, it's a small, open-kitchen bistro on the corner of a busy street...in Playa. The freshest farm-to-table ingredients are artfully prepared right before you with expertise. Flavors are fresh and balanced, presentation is outstanding. Worth the splurge.More

Not sure how we found Ictio Fish House but so glad we did. In the middle of a highly commercialised area with loud music and street seller’s, in a quiet side street we found Ictio Fish House. Sitting on a corner plot, this family run...restaurant served simple food, well cooked with lovely friendly service. It was so enjoyable that we booked to go back the next night! Enjoy.More

Unique restaurant in Playa Del Carmen. We had two seats overlooking the open kitchen, observing all the action. Chefs are using top quality ingredients, prepareing dishes right on the spot. Food is delicious, and the outdoor kitchen is great ambiance. Dishes are next level creative....Reservations are recommended.More
