Ordered the fish fillet and they asked if i wanted small or big. I said small. They brought out a huge fish and said its all they have. They said 220 pesos instead of the normal 150 pesos. Then they come out and say i needed to pay now...very unusual.....so i paid. I never got the fish fillet but this... More

This is not a fancy place, so don't wear dress and suit. But it is really worthy to visit! They have fresh seafood which you can choose and they prepare it in different styles. We ate lobster with garlic, different ceviches, and fish. You can also buy fish there and prepare it at home. Delicious!

I visited el pirate with high hopes and left it completely regretting my visit. It was quite possibly the worst dining experience I've had here. We arrived at 7:30 and they immediately told us they closed at 8. We figured a half hour was enough. They immediately tried to solicit us with a lobster tail and then told us they... More

We were recommended to try this restaurant by friends. We liked that it was a hole in the wall type place with plastic chairs. Plenty of locals were dining. We experienced good service and generous appetizers. The waiter brought over a tray with two lobsters. I asked the price in Spanish but didn't receive a response. On the menu it... More

We visit this restaurant for lunch and was an outstanding culinary experience, it is not a fancy restaurant, it is very humble, but the sea food is fresh a very well prepared, you have to go!! if the Mariachis shows up to sing will be unforgettable.

The guacamole is great, but the dinner (fish) was horrible... Breaded shrimp were overcooked and the couple we had dinner with ate one bite of the other dish.

Happened upon this very basic plastic chairs and tables, roadside patio restaurant by accident one day and due to thirst after a long walk decided to stop for a beer. Complimentary snail ceviche and chips along with a cold one were excellent. After meeting Chef Pepe (who also serves tables) he promised to cook a special lunch for us the... More

I don't know how I could be such a frequent visitor to Playa and have just discovered this delicious little gem of a seafood restaurant. I don't think I've ever had fresher fish. I had the whole boquinete fish, which was amazing. My friends had the grouper filet with garlic and lime, which I tried, and it was equally as... More

We stumbled onto El Pirata by accident and loved it. The ceviche is fresh and tasty and available as take out. This was our first experience and they're open for lunch right thru to dinner. It was so good that we decided to return for dinner to have the whole fried fish. These guys offer whole fried fishes ranging from... More
