The seafood was really good, fresh and well served. A small place that is worth a visit, it is not overpriced as the restaurants on the 5th Avenue.

We asked our taxi driver where we could get FRESH and delicious local food and this is where he dropped us off! There were six adults and it was packed and raining when we arrived. A packed restaurant is always worth waiting for but they quickly set us up a table with two umbrellas; a bit into the sidewalk but... More

This is a modest typical family friendly restaurant that exits in Mexico. I asked locals for a spot to eat and we were recommended this site. We had ceviche, breaded fish fillet, snails in garlic sauce and the best of the best Salpicon! Each time we go to Playa del Carmen my kids first stop is this place to eat... More

I discovered El Pirate on a prior trip. So when the ladies went to get their massage, we headed to El Pirata. It is a small place located between the Blue Parrot and Zenzi. They have tables with pa;apas (and swings at the Bar) right on the beach. We ordered some guacamole & chips, and a chicken Quesada, when the... More

this is a local favorite. the fish is fresh..you can even select the fish you want cooked. The ceviche is wonderful and portions are huge. The shrimp cocktail is fabulous. You cannot go wrong here.

For us gringos this restaurant was a bit intimidating. I'm not sure you can get more authentic and we don't speak a lick of Spanish. Based on the other reviews we had some concerns but more with the service than food. But we prefer to try and eat "locally" when on vacation so we gave it a try. Our party... More

this is a restaurant frequented mostly by locals with a mix of tourists. the food is simply wonderful. I have been here dozens of times and never had a poor plate of food. It's a cantina style of eating; though don't let the plastic furniture fool you, this is the best place for ceviche and sea food.

We, try to return it, it cost us 450 pesos The daughter of the owner said that she was not going to cook another one, and that she didn´t care. She refused to change it or gives us our money back. It... More
