La Tarraya was recommended to us and we are so happy we went! This is a local fish/seafood restaurant that still has the local charm of Playa and is located right on the beach! The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating and just has a...More

We love this restaurant on the beach. It's lovely to dig our toes into the sand while we enjoy excellent food at great prices.

We ate at La Tarraya several times in our 3 weeks in town. The ceviche never disappoints and had delicious soup and filete. Our one time to branch out with hamburguesa and fries was marred by an odd issue in the kitchen. Food was cold,...More

We had dinner here right at sunset. It was a perfect location to begin our stay in Playa del Carmen on the beach with a view directly to the ocean. The food is seafood prepared in a traditional Mexican style, but also has alternative cooking...More

Unfortunately calamari were discusting. Not fresh, generally terrible. Tacos also. I really like to celebrate a good food and I was very dissapointed because of that place. Quite cheap and untasty :(

The grouper with garlic and butter for 90 pesos can't be beat anywhere. Service was good, portions are huge , drinks are large and excellent, and the location is right on the beach (feet in the sand if you choose). A great value.
