Eat here on every trip. Place has been around a long time. Prices are phenomenal for a beach restaurant! The tacos de pescada are fantastic! Anybody who gives this place a bad review was obviously part of the problem and no doubt a Trump supporter!

What's not to like about a very affordable, good food restaurant on the beach in Playa del Carmen? We've been during the afternoon and in the evening, near closing time. More crowded in the afternoon with people from the beach, less crowded in the evening. The wait staff is friendly and the food, especially the fish dishes are wonderful. Nothing... More

Felipe is the best waiter. We always enjoy dining here when we are on vacation in Playa del Carmen. Be patient because sometimes it's a long wait for service and they did not have guacamole when we were there. We usually have a whole fish La Tarraya style.

This is where I actually relaxed fully, so I hesitate to give it a good review because I don't want it to be all packed and fancy next time. It's where the locals go, for a good reason. Beach view, you can keep your shoes off and feet in the sand as you drink a killer margarita, eat amazing ceviche... More

Although the restaurant itself looks terrible, the fish is amazing! Don't expect to have a great choice in different kinds of fish, because they only serve a few. We had the fish filets and they were amazing! Compared to all the restaurants in the area this one serves meals for a fairly low price. You can sit on the beach... More

Good cheap spot to eat on the beach, fresh seafood, nice view and very nice Mexican vibe. Would recommend it to anyone who wants to taste Mexico without spending a lot

Nice view to the sea just at a side of ma8n beach on Playa, the seafood was good, not so good like on other places but prices are really cheap, drinks are more cheap even, casual pass by restaurant.... Nothing else....

Very good seafood, good price (half the price than most restaurant on the 5th avenue), location right on the beach. This is a family restaurant, chill atmosphere, nothing fancy but the food is excellent ! Also they have a nice sangria ! Give it a try ! Will go back there for sure

This is the place if your a budget traveler like myself and want nice casual beachfront dinning and cheap drinks! Beers only $25 pesos($1.25USD approx) and great Margaritas for $50 pesos($2.60US). Guacamole $30 pesos with chips. The popular expat beach restaurant towards the ferry charge $50pesos for beer and $90 pesos for a very small margarita! I had basic chicken... More

La Tarraya was recommended to us and we are so happy we went! This is a local fish/seafood restaurant that still has the local charm of Playa and is located right on the beach! The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating and just has a great atmosphere...very charming and rustic; it hasn't been hit by the massive commercialization and "upgrading"... More

The grouper with garlic and butter for 90 pesos can't be beat anywhere. Service was good, portions are huge , drinks are large and excellent, and the location is right on the beach (feet in the sand if you choose). A great value.
