Went for dinner last stay in playa. We had heard good things and were not disappointed. The guacamole was the best we had our entire stay. All the food was fresh and delicious. We all had fish of varying recipes and everyone enjoyed immensely. Will be back!

We were a group of 7 with 2 small children. We had a nice table in middst of the "jungle" and there was enough room for the two little ones to move around without desturbing other guests. Service was very friendly and the food very nicely presented. All of mexican specialities were available and tasted great. Great location for an... More

This restaurant was my favorite - we ate lunch here on several occasions, and each time I ordered the same thing: garlic shrimp with vegetables and rice. This dish arrived with approximately 7-8 large shrimp - marinated in buttery garlic deliciousness. The rice had a slight crunch, the vegetables cooked to perfection. This dish, combined with a glass of wine... More

The ambiance is lovely, but the food was tasteless and room temperature. We noticed most of the bad reviews are during dinner service, and the glowingly positive ones for lunch/brunch. Maybe try earlier in the day?

My group and I enjoyed our meal. Two of us ordered a bottle of Rose to share. I really liked it, my friend doesn't like it dry, but I do. However, she was very pleased while drinking it. We ordered a couple appetizers and both were exceptionally satisfying. I had been craving a salad, so I ordered the salad with... More

We come to Playa every year and stay for 2 weeks. We eat here at least 6-7 times during our stay. We have been coming to playa for many years and have eaten at MANY different restaurants both on and off 5th ave. This place is in our top 5! Excellent upscale food at mid range prices. Large portions of... More

We went there based in a recommendation from our hotel. What a total disappointment! We had a party of 5, the food ordered by 2 of our group members never came out. The waiter was fully aware that only 3 people had been served and never once came over to explain the delay or apologize. The manager or owner on... More

This place is a classic for breakfast in Playa del Carmen. A peaceful atmosphere with a beautiful garden, fountains, pleasant trees to give shade and a unique jungle-style architecture make it a perfect place for a tasty breakfast after a party night. The best scramble eggs and chilaquiles in town.

Enjoyed breakfast at La Cueva del Chango. We had cappuccino, French toast, shredded chicken crepes and chocolate bread. Everything was delicious. The French toast was made with whole wheat bread. A wonderful setting, felt like we were in the jungle. Great service, too.

Lovely setting, courtyard surrounded by trees made for a very relaxing breakfast. The menu has a lot of Mexican offerings (chilaquiles, huevos, etc) as well as Mexican version of crepes and French toast. I had the crepes with shredded chicken, which had a green poblano sauce on it. Absolutely delicious and 3 crepes were very filling.
