A nice cafe on 5th avenue, and a pleasant place to chill for a while. The menu is small, but the prices are OK and the cakes and coffees are yummy! Recommended for dessert or as a small brake in the busy streets of playa del carmen

Whenever I am in playa deal Carmen I have the hot spicy Mexican chocolate espresso. It is amazing. They have 2 of these coffee places in playa deal Carmen. The banana cake was also very tasty. A must when visiting playa.

During my time in PDC, I came here 3 times with my family. We tried all of the hot chocolates (AMAZING!), the chocolate mousse (the best I have ever had), the chocolate brownie (fudgy and delicious) and the carrot cake (moist and good), and the mexican chocolate ice cream (so rich and decadent). I wish I could have that hot... More

Every visit to Playa I spend about 1-2 hours per day at Au Cacao. On Constituentes my favorite people watching spot and on 5th Abe north across from my hotel. Been going there for the last 5 years for the best coffee and chocolate! Great staff as well and very clean.

Everything at this place is good. The chocolate frio, the vanilla frio, ice creams, and all of the chocolate bars. Try to taste everything while you are here.

My wife doesn't usually like cake but we had to have theirs 3 times! I tried the cheesecake as well and it was delicious. Dangerous for those of us who usually avoid dessert. Couldn't resist this place. We also had some of their ice creams which were delicious. Most visited place on our trip!

We only went there once during our recent trip to Playa but definitely put this store on your must-visit list.

Perfect place for morning coffee! Had croissant and cappuccino - both really good. Good service even thought they were quite busy.

Stopped into this place looking for a cool non alcoholic drink. Nice variety of chocolate items. $3 for a medium shake. There was also free wifi which was a bonus. Indoor and outdoor seating. Takes American currency.
