On this trip and every trip to playa. We stop off at least once a day to buy a coffee or a cappuccino. This store is the best in playa ...forget Starbucks .
The pastries are inexpensive and fabulous try the carrot cake or the banana bread
The people working there are efficient and very courteous
One young lady in particular ,Connie ,makes the experience at this store on 38th st extra special

Friends took us to Ah Cacao for custom made chocolate drinks, but the best thing we bought there was their chocolate almond butter spread ....soooo much better than that commercial stuff. I’m going back for several more jars to take home with me!

My husband surprised me with some chocolate cake from Ah Cacao in Playa. It was simply the best cake I've had. It was both flavorful and the texture was moist. Somehow this cake melts in your mouth. The chocolate icing is simply remarkable. It was so good that we returned a couple of days later to try another dessert and I noticed on Trip Advisor some of the photos showed they had Cacoa powder and nibs for sale. During our second visit I tried the cheesecake and it was good. I generally prefer cheesecake over chocolate cake but I will definitely be back to Ah Cacoa for their chocolate cake. My husband had a pastry (see photo) and he said, "This is the best I've ever had, anywhere." We got some Cacoa items to take home and they gave it to us in a nice, reusable, environment-friendly canvas bag...nice touch!

When we vacation in Playa my wife and I take long walks on the beach and back up to 5th Avenue (usually 1-2 hour walks) and we get pretty warm. So we have learned to stop and sit down to enjoy a Chai Latte Grande Frillo (Large Chai Tea Cold) to sip and cool down- pure heaven. The wait staff is great! We also stop in in the evenings for their Coconut or Dark Chocolate Ice Cream.

We treated ourselves to an afternoon snack with the Brownie and chocolate ice cream combo. It was decadent and great value for $69 pesos. The shop specialises in chocolate beverages but also has a range of cakes, ice cream and even empanadas to have with your beverage.

Much better than Starbucks. Although it is a chain, it gives more of a local feel. We really enjoyed the different types of drinks. The employees were quite knowledgeable about the drinks too, which was nice. The brownies are excellent! Next time we are in the area, we would definitely visit again. They also sell chocolate bars, but they were pretty expensive compared to how much you would pay for the same thing in a store. Also keep in mind that buying chocolate bars on a hot day may not be the best idea if you are walking around the town for a long time!

This chocolate chain was great! My friends and I have been coming to Playa del Carmen for years. We enjoy walking around the areas in the neighborhoods. We have seen this chocolate shop multiple times. And every year, we say we're going to stop. This year we made sure we stopped and ordered nice delicious coffee, chocolate, brownies, a little bit of everything on the menu. It did not disappoint

Everything they sell is amazing, we can attest to that as we have tried pretty much all of their products over the last few years. Coffee, Chocolates, coco powder, chocolate oil - all highly recommended.
No trip to Yucatan can be complete without multiple stops to this heavenly cafe. Everyone in our family is a fan of this place.
All bakery products are made fresh daily and with the best ingredients.
The staff speaks English, cafe is always clean and sanitized, located right on the 5th Ave.

We had a lot of trouble finding a good cup of coffee in Playa, but this place took the prize. We were here every evening to recharge our batteries and refresh with iced coffee. We also stocked up on chocolate bars, some great flavors, locally produced.

This cafe is a chain of about 5 in playa del carmen we visited 2 of them whilst in Mexico. The iced chocolate drinks are great the chocolate Maya was the best. They also do a traditional chocolate drink which has cinnamon and vanilla. Both were good. We also tried the corn cake which was a little strange for us a very unusual taste kind of like a sweetcorn flavoured cake. They do a chocolate brownie which was flavourful and well baked.
The staff were very helpful and let us taste test some of the chocolates and some jungle honey. We purchased the jungle honey, the cacao powder, chocolate coffee beans and a bar of the Maya chocolate which is chocolate with a hint of chilli.
The prices are good for an artisanal chocolate cafe like this.

the best coffee and service in playa always full of locals and tourist. I love my latte there and orange juice, they have also many options for lunch and delicius sweet stuff on the menu.

Excellent coffee and chocolate. You have to try the brownie or carrot cake! Good service. Good cold drinks too! We made this our daily go too. If you want a bite to eat or like cold fruit drinks they have a great assortment.

Excellent breakfast café with fresh fruits, smoothies, and fantastic chocolate products.
Service was great, and they can even customize your order. The breakfast burrito was so fresh and tasty and they even provided me with a salsa Verde. It was delicious. Their chocolate ice cream is fabulous as well and I purchased honey plus chocolate bars from them. My favorite chocolate bar is the one with the salted pumpkin seeds. It’s awesome! Love this place!

I go to Ah Cacao to have a "chocolate caliente" after dinner at a neighboring restaurant. A delight!
I also recommend their branded coffee beans or gound coffe to take home.
My firends love their latte or capuccino but I am adict to the taste of their hot chocolate

I don’t often buy specialty coffees, but I’m glad I did here. Their mocha was so good! They also had a gift bag of coffee shampoo, soap and oil I bought as a Christmas gift. Sitting outside of their shop watching people go by and seeing the lagoon down the street was enjoyable.
