WE were in Merida two days, and we had to go back to this wonderful place for sorbet. IT was so hot and humid in Merida, but the sorbet made everything better. So refreshing on a very hot afternoon. WE tried the strawberry, peach and coconut, and al were deoicious

We take all of our visitors here after a trip to the center square. My favorite sorbete flavor is coconut. I am craving it right now just thinking about it! The mango, strawberry (fresa) and chocolate are also good. If you are daring you might try the elote (corn) flavor. I would have given this place a 5 but sometimes... More

While you are enjoying the delicious sorbets, which taste exactly like if you were eating a fresh fruit, you can enjoy people watching and a bit of shade on beautiful Paseo Montejo. Love the place!!

The experience having a sorbet in "Sorbeteria Colon" is unique. The taste of the ice creams and sorbets reminds you yout childhood, if you were born in Merida. If not, it transports you to a world of flavors, you will remeber forever! The yucatecan fruits used to prepare them, the way they prepare them, and the relaxed atmosphere, make it... More

We came here (both on Paseo de Montejo & near Cathedral) on almost a daily basis. It's that good! Pineapple, strawberry and watermelon were my favorites.

If you like sorbets and ice cream then you definitely have try the ones at Helados Colon. They are soooo sooo good. Made with fresh fruit every day, at good prices and great portions. A very popular flavour is the 'Mamey' ice cream. It is made from a local and very popular fruit called Mamey, which is dark orange in... More

Young coconut is a rare delicassy that makes you feel like born again. Make that into a perfectly textured milky sorbet, and you will be on cloud nine before you know it. Other flavours are also good, but coconut is seriously to die for!

The best traditional ice cream in town. You must try mango, guanabana, coco, platano, guayaba... You name it, every one is great. Don't miss it.

I was not sorry they were out of Mamey Ice-cream when we were there twice on this visit. Merida had been experiencing 102+ degree weather and more. Watermelon sorbet came to the rescue, and now I ache just thinking about how much I like that one over all the other flavors. Do yourself a favor and wait for a hot... More
