This is the real deal, comida tipica yucatecan. This one we make sure we visit everytimes we go to Merida. Freshly made tortillas & food. I suggest to avoid the centro locations and try to go in Santa Ana instead, centro is always crowded. Good portions good foods good prices!

To be completely honest I thought that this restaurant was going to be a complete tourist trap. And even if it could feel that it is I reckon it is as authentic as it is touristy. Located in a colonial looking mansion and with waiters and waitresses dressed in local traditional clothing. We went in two occasions the first not... More

Charming, large and very popular restaurant in heart of downtown with both air conditioned and open air dining areas. Many menu options based on local foods, great for vegetarians (though not vegans!). Great for groups. Food options below - cheese empanadas, papadzules ( tortillas with hard boiled eggs and pumpkin seed sauce) and los tres mosquateros, three turkey crepes with... More

We were a large group and that is always more difficult to accommodate but we did get lectured on not asking for separate bills at the beginning. The food was mostly good, the salads were huge and delicious but some others were less impressed. The chaya drink is great so make sure you try that!

The experience was sort of fun and uplifting maybe because of the bright colors and liveliness. I ate at both locations which are a few blocks from each other. This was the place where I first discovered bright green Chaya juice. It was very sweet, but it's not sour or bitter. You can order it mixed with a sweet juice... More

After all the great reviews, this place was a disapointment. Watered down margarita, everything we tried was very bland. Service, however, was good and the atmosphere is very nice.

Hello Im eric and i had lunch at this place with my friend waldi and some others. I counted six different meals and everything was never as good as expected considered the high rank in here... Tacos were dry and tasteless and the meat my friend ordered was at least 15 hours overcooked. I would never eat here again.

Based upon the type of food that we wanted, La Chaya Maya restaurant was recommended to us by several local residents, and our guide. We were not disappointed. We each enjoyed the Pibil Tacos, which were excellent. The pork was very tender and absolutely delicious. We tried some local beer that we had not tasted before; Ceiba Ámbar of Yucatéca.... More

Went for dinner with my family (2 boys aged 7&9 and us 2). Atmosphere was great, it was busy though not enough that we had to wait for a table. It has been busy every night we have walked past as well. We ordered the poc-chuc which was lovely for my son who liked the food. Also the chicken picbil... More
