We have both eaten in and taken food to go from this great, affordable spot on the Mercado Santiago. Their cochinita is some of the best we have tried in our month in Mexico. Their salsa is loaded with flavor and heat. Try the panuchos...More

Went on a Saturday morning. Clean market. Tons of locals. Had the special and a few tacos. It was okay. Wish we had tried another one of the stalls. Great market.More

Hello KikiLDC, We appreciate the review as we strive to offer the best in service, cleanliness but above all, our food and pricing. In your review, you mentioned that you "had the special and a few tacos" of which we do not currently offer any...More

For start, the Mercado Santiago is the cleanest market I have ever visit not only in Mexico and that includes Barcelona, Madrid, London, Istambul and Paris. If you want to try something different of the Yucatan cuisine, start the day with a torta de lechón....More

We enjoyed coming here for brunch before a trip to tour Uxmal. I had two types of shrimp tacos and fresh orange juice. Homemade corn tortillas (as always in Yucatan). Quick, inexpensive and delicious.

I was suppose to be going to the Super Aki but ended up strolling through the market buying produce. I passed by this Taqueria and recognized it from some of my travel groups suggestions. I decided to get a torta and empanadas to go. The...More

Pull up a chair and enjoy the excellent cochinita pibil tacos for breakfast (they open at 5 or 6am) or lunch. Best to double up on the tortillas... it's a big pile of juicy yumminess. Excellent value for a quick snack.

Our first day in Merida and we headed to Santiago Market. La Lupita is right next to the market. We decided to try the tacos at La Lupita, a small but busy restaurant where the locals eat. The menu was in Spanish but we eventually...More

We always love spending time at local markets whenever we travel and the Mercado de Santiago was in our neighborhood so, time to explore. Like so many markets it provided a quick study of the neighborhood, community and regional food near where we were staying...More
