We went for breakfast. Food was delicious. But the OJ....omgosh the best ever. Freshly squeezed. Restaurant was clean. Service was great even with the language barrier. No one spoke any English at all and our Spanish is terrible, but there were no issues. Would definitely go back.

Nice restaurant near the plaza with good traditional Yucatan and Mayan food. I had the Yucatan chicken with orange sauce and it was very delicious.

First we were in a "recommended" restaurant but to be honest it was too fancy and too expensive. So we started our own search and touched base at "El Trapiche". It is not fancy, just a small place but the people are very friendly and attentive. We selected 4 different specialties of Yucatan and all were just great. Due to... More

I went to El Trapiche based on a TA recommendation and it became my go-to place in central Merida. The food is not the best I have ever tasted, but it was darn close along with consistent quality and good service. They even got quite busy at times but there was not much wait for the food. The cochinita pibil... More

During my stay in Merida, El Trapiche was the restaurant I kept going back to. The servings were plentiful and tasty, the service was fast and efficient, the waitresses were friendly and engaging many speaking fluent English. They have seating in front next to the street, which I preferred, or they have seating in the back away from the street.... More

We where near, the trip advisor app recommended this place, we almost missed it, there's no big sign outside. We asked a seller across the street and he said it was where they eat. The place is humble but with good local food. They sell fresh fruit juice as well. Cheap and delicious!

As a tourist with limited espanol in Merida, this place was great. The waitress was very friendly and despite our attempts at Spanish she spoke great English and recommended a good light beer (xx lager in case anyone is wondering!). I had the quesadillas and it was a very cheesy and delicious portion. Would definitely visit again!

Real deal Yucatecan food - I had pescado al mojo de ajo which was just great with steamed vegetables and rice. Tawie had fajitas de pollo (as usual) and found them delightful. Simple. We took flan to go to enjoy at the hotel.

If you are walking around centro and want A FRESH HOMEMADE MEAL, this is the place to go, as most of the other choices around the central plaza area are recycled, they serve recycled food and I had bad experiences with the other restaurants around, but this one is the best choice in centro, great prices, fresh food!! and also...
