Having lived on Isla Mujeres for five years, we discovered El Charco very early in our move to the island. We always call the restaurant, Deisey and Raul's after the wonderful people who own and operate it. Deisey always greets us with a big smile...and hug, while Raul who is back in the kitchen, always waves and smiles! The offerings are your basic Mexican family meals, but prepared with the freshest ingredients and always delicious. We usually order fajitas and flautas but we often order lime soup and chicken soup because they are just delicious as are everything we order. They are located in La Gloria, but don't fail to find them, the food is great, and the prices are less then half those in Centro!More

We were expecting a little more of a restaurant, but this was more of a mom and pop type place that we really enjoyed. El Charco has a few small tables and the walls are adorned with Minnesota Twins pictures and posters (a family member...played for them). On the counter are bowls of beans, potatoes, and different sauces which are self-serve. We both had fajitas with cold beer which were both very good. Service was very good.More

El Charco has a new location but they are still the best around! The enchilada suizas are incredible and I tried the chicken alambre which was awesome! Don't miss the self serve salsa/sides bar!!

This is the best place to eat dinner on the Island. Seriously so good. Everything. The owner cooks your food. Flautas fajitas. Whatever. Such sweet nice people.

We came here as part of a cultural food tour, and sampled the enchiladas. Wow! They were so delicious. The Restaurant is clean and tidy, and the sauces are varied and plentiful. I would like to try more items on their menu, and when we...get back we'll look them up again. Deisy is so sweet and hospitable. Look them up, there's a reason they rate so high on tripadvisor. Being as this was a visit as part of a food tour, I can't speak to the cost or value aspects. But it wouldn't stop me from going back.More

The friendliest place to eat in Isla has moved to a much more quiet and secluded neighborhood and the food is better than ever! Deisy makes you feel right at home in her beautiful new setting. All the delicious complimentary sides are still there making...this a can't miss eatery. The chicken flautas are the best in Isla and always served to perfection and the enchilada suizas are impeccable. There are many other AUTHENTIC dishes on the menu and the prices are very inexpensive for the portions (and sides) Rual dish up nightly. It is a hidden gem located mid island but worth going out of your way to relax and enjoy. "The real deal"More
