the fish crusted with chili and ground tortillas is delish! Good, friendly service. Fair prices. In the center of the Hidalgo strip.

Stumbled upon this place on our final night on Isla. Unfortunately it was the worst meal of the trip. We had nachos to start and the accompanying dips were awful. Worst guacamole I have ever tasted. I had the restaurants speciality fish dish. It was 'fine' at best. Quite bland and disappointing. Strongly recommend avoiding this place for an evening... More

Attached to the Hotel Bucaneros, on Isla's main street (Hidalgo), I was eventually persuaded by the efforts of Pedro, the persistent yet low-key and funny maître d'/waiter to try this restaurant. Good move - it was one of the days Compadres' was offering its Mexican buffet. This was my first time for authentic tamales and chili renello and they were... More

On Hildago looking for a place for dinner, full of tourists and locals so we stopped. Prices were similar to others on Hildago, but waiter Pedro and Hostess were very helpful and not pushy. Very interested in what we liked and then pointed us to what they thought we would prefer and they were dead on. Fresh fish dishes were... More

We visited Compadres on our last day of our Isla vacation. My husband got the chicken fajitas and I got the beef, both were delicious and had plenty of meat. We ordered the bean dip as an appetizer and expected it to be more than a plate of refried beans but it was still good. The only reason we didn't... More

I wasn't thrilled at first because of the tightness of the area. We love sitting outside in a fairly large group but this place is in an area of Hidalgo that seems to get narrow. That plus little room on the tables and sitting elbow to elbow gave me a sense of wanting to be somewhere else. But when the... More

Went for dinner. Lovely little spot, with great service. I had soap de lima and shrimp tacos, hubby had seafood soup and a fish filet for dinner. Soups were massive, and by the time we had finished them, neither of us had much room left for the entrees. I find with the heat we did not have much appetite. I... More

If you are in Isla Mujeres, please just eat here. Best fish tacos I have ever had...made with red snapper, grilled and just delicious. They have a great deal for lunch where you get 2 beers and a plate of tacos for super cheap. We also got their queso fundido, which was really delicious, and they provided chips and salsa... More

Very nice food, 2x1 on cocktails and kind staff. The garlic fish fillet was amazing and cheap, same for the arrachera that my friend had and for the banana split that we had at the end. They ask for a service charge but I think they deserve it. Best restaurant in hidalgo street!
