Visited this spot while on our honeymoon, very friendly staff, excellent drinks and food, beautiful view of the sunset. Get the wondermelon gin and ceviche! The shrimp tacos were also really great. Amazing.

Situated in a gorgeous old Mexican house El Palomar is both elegant in its style and casual at the same time. The food was Mexican but done in a very light and simple way allowing the ingredients to do the talking! The food was really...excellent. The prices were very reasonable compared to the other restaurants we tried in Cozumel. Highly recommend El Palomar!More

Found this gem on our last day in Cozumel. Wonderful food, drinks, service and atmosphere. The mollete, chilaquiles, and pork belly tacos were amazing! Our flight was delayed and we spent a lovely 3 hours relaxing here enjoying all it had to offer. Views and...relaxed vibes are great!More

Having been told about this place by around a dozen people ranging from the woman at the dive shop to a guy at a beach bar, we finally decided to give it a try and we were not disappointed. Occupying the oldest and hippest building...in Cozumel, we decided to have a seat outside on the front porch and catch the cool breeze coming off the ocean and watch the sunset while we dined. The beers were ice cold and the margaritas were outstanding and the service was spot on. Our waitress steered us to some wonderful dishes that were not good but great. The place is beautifully historic inside with separate dining rooms and a gorgeous courtyard surrounded by palm trees if you want to dine in privacy but still outdoors. Can’t recommend the place enough. And look for the lazy dog that will come up and not beg, but rather fall fast asleep behind your chair. He’s a hoot.More

This was my second time to visit El Palomar on a Cozumel trip. It is one of our favorite spots for a nice dinner. First, I like the atmosphere. The building is the oldest house on the island. It is cute inside and has a...nice outdoor patio area in the back as well. The front porch or front room is a great place to catch the sunset and have an ocean view. Second, the food and drinks are great! The menu is unique and offers dishes not quite the same as most other restaurants. The Mezcal Shrimp tacos were awesome!More

The place and welcoming was ok, but the food was really greasy, poor quality and flavor. Don’t recommend eating here. They didn’t take responsibility and charged the returned tacos anyway.

This little place is located downtown at Melgar Avenue. Food is good and tasty and drinks are something new however we did find prices to be a little expensive if we compare the size of the drinks and portion of the food. Overall it was...a great way to enjoy the views of the bay. I would recommendMore

My wife and I dined inside and then sat outside at street level to watch the sunset (behind the clouds anyway). Food was excellent. As an aside, I typically do not eat seafood, but the menu was calling my name! I could go on and...on with superlatives, but just look at the pictures... and then go! A really chill place with great, friendly staff that sits away from the hustle and bustle of Melgar.More

We stopped by for a quick lunch. The food was outstanding and so was the service. We had a guacamole bowl, shrimp tacos, and fish tacos. All of them were amazing. We recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an elevated dining experience in Cozumel

The menu at El Palomar made it difficult to choose--so many choices that all looked good. I chose the pork belly confit and it turned out to be the best meal I had during a 2 week vacation on isla Cozumel. The pork belly was...served up in a bath of creamy, refried black beans and topped with jicama, radish, and pickled red onion served with the perfect corn tortillas, this made for the best taco I've eaten in Mexico. Great food, very pleasant service, in a garden dining setting all made for a memorable evening out.More

If we had to choose any restaurant to visit multiple times in Cozumel this would be the place to visit. From the excellent mixology drinks to amazing seafood. We tried a variety of dishes on our three visits there. Their Tostada de Atún was amazing,...special of the month Naan Relleno de Camarón was fantastic, Sofrito de Pulpo, Filete de Res, Ceviche de Pescado and lastly Molletes Especiales for breakfast were all plated beautifully and satisfied are foodie palates. We will definitely be back next time we’re in Cozumel.More
