When passing by the La Rumba restaurant, we were a bit too late for the live music. Even though we where the only ones, they reinstalled their music instruments and played some great music for us. The food was very nice and for a reasonable...price. Last good thing to mention was the conversation in which he shared some great insight about the country and his time living here. Scape the crowds and avoid the touristy traps. This is the real thing. This is what Cozumel should be about. With the best live music in Cozumel and laid back, island feel. Drinks, full bar, excellent real Caribbean food. No pushing you to consume, relaxed...no rush, a real authentic island place. My favorite place in Cozumel.More
I truly enjoyed visiting La Rumba because it basically transported me back to my dear Venezuela. The voices of Jesus and Angel were amazing and with only two instruments (guitar and congas) they were able to delight us with so many boleros, son, guajiras, salsa...dura, etc. It was hard to stop singing and dancing. I like the small set feeling. They had a good variety of drinks but I stuck to beer because it was hot! :-) They had fans and there was a nice breeze from time to time. If you want to experience true Caribbean off the beaten path life you need to come to this place! I will definitely be coming back to Cozumel and to La Rumba again!More
Asked around town for a place that tourists don’t go. This was it. Fresh guacamole with hat fresh chips. Had ceviche and pork tacos. Beer and mixed drinks. All three of us stuffed. Local cruise and friendly staff. Loved getting off the strip.
La Rumba was the only place on the island that I found to have authentic live music. If you like latin music, this is the place to be on Saturday Night. Nice drinks too.More

Nice food, friendly waiter called Oscar and resonable prices! We had some different tacos, the best was the fish tacos and the frijoles was soooo good!
We had a late lunch here at around 4 pm, so we were the only guests. The meals were very delicious. The service was a bit slower than in some other places, but still very good.
Good food, good music, excellent service. Great hosts. Went back several times. The menu of the day is recommended
We went on a Friday night for dinner, salsa lessons and the band as we have several times over the past few years. At 8 pm the place was nearly empty, the drinks arrived and we took some 15 minutes to place our order and...then minutes later the very nice manager returned and had to explain that the kitchen was closed, there was no food and he offered our drinks for free for the inconvenience. Felt very badly for the manager who was full of enthusiasm and very professional but they are obviously having some employee problems which I hope they can solve. In the past we have always enjoyed.More

Not sure what happened, but we used to go there to see Jesus Alejandro Perez one of the best cuban singers anywhere. He is no longer there, so disappointing. Angel is great, but he and Jesus were wonderful together.More
