You do not need to reserve in advance to get to any of the beach club. Take a cab from cruise port, it is fixed price. All of these clubs are next to each other on the same section of the beach. Just the entrance is different. on the beach you can not even tell which one is which (you know by different color of umbrellas and Chairs). There is no fee to enter Carlos, however we entered from Paradise beach club. They have 3 fee levels based on the services you choose to use - just beach and chair, pool and food.
After beach, if you are looking to use pool then I would recommend you go to Paradise. Again, all of these clubs really are next to each other - you can enter from any, walk back to the beach and go to any of club's area that you like. If you are facing ocean then Paradise section is to the left of Carlos.
Food was fine at Carlos, did not try at Paradise. Did use pool at the end at Paradise and it was wonderful. Took a cab back from paradise (this club has largest area).
Finally they have lot of activity on the beach such as motor boat, jet skii, banana boat, inflated slides etc for kids. I am not sure of the prices, we were mainly in the water, eating at carlos and relaxing. Unless you are into snorkling etc you can skip cruise offered activities and head to any of these beaches.
Finally just one caution, since there are so many clubs on this beach the actual beach for swimming is not that large. Basically they all have inflated slides etc then open water area then motorized sports boat etc parked then open water, then slides then motorized toys. But enough to enjoy the water.
