I went to Playa Bonita in 1989 and it truly was a "Beautiful Beach". The sand was like powder which stretched out a good twenty yard to the water. Now the water comes right up to what were the stairs down to the beach. Drinks are large and the food is average. It is not really worth the stop over.... More

8 of us stopped here for lunch. We had ceviche, fish tacos, and beer. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. The restaurant is open air, very rustic with no electricity. The beach and ocean are just steps away. The prices are similar to US prices.

Many people will drive right by Playa Bonita because the structure is quite weather-beaten from years of wind and waves. That would be a big mistake however. This is a great little place with good food, strong drinks, and a very friendly staff. If you are doing the east side, do yourself a favor and give this place a try!

The beaches, the waters edge, the ocean scenes are breathtaking in Cozumel. We always rent a car and go beach hopping and stop for lunch a few times during our visit. Playa Bonita, local beach bar is as good as it gets for lunch and views. Unfortunately throughout the years, the beach in front is no longer a beach you... More

This place used to have the best beach on the East side. After Wilma took the beach away, the restaurant seemed to suffer as well, but they have upped their game under new management, and the restaurant is above average for beach food and drinks.

Although they have lost their beautiful beach after one of the hurricanes, the view, food , and drinks are excellent. The margaritas are fabulous and the octopus ceviche. They also make a "hotter than hell" homemade habanero hot sauce thats worth the pain:)!

We visited Playa Bonita as part of the Cozumel Bar Hop and it was awesome. We ordered a plate full of fresh grilled lobster and shrimp as well as fish fingers and fries. THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT! They had really good caesars to go with our meal. We would definitely go back if we were in Cozumel again!

This has been now our 6th time to stop and eat and drink here when we visit. Have never been disappointed, it is not up scale and don't let the looks fool you the sea food is out of this world good. The entertainment that happens will make you laugh. Service is also some of the best on the island.
