First time we ate there was in January -2x- and spoke often about eating there again. Everything we order is delicious and unique in taste. The mango margaritas are large, refreshing and yummy. It’s feels as if you are visiting a friends restaurant/home. The family...that owns and staffs it are warm and friendly. Remember when u travel that most people are having financial troubles: if u can tip well and bring clothes,-adult or child’s - shoes or anything else you want to give to someone on your vacations.More

Ray and his staff were fantastic. It was our friends birthday and they made it special. Great food and drinks. Try the Chi Chi! You won’t be disappointed.

El Moro is restaurant of the beaten path in Cozumel. It is well worth the taxi ride. My wife had the catch of the day and I had steak cubana. The food was awesome! The staff will be the reason I return. They were awesome.

We love the traditional setting and the variety of Mexican food options they had. We had shrimp fajitas and chicken and steak kababs. Both were awesome.

I used to say that a certain restaurant on the island claiming to have the "best tail I ever had" was truly the best lobster I ever had, but after the Lobster Moro I'm not so sure. I think this might be the new #1...best lobster I've ever had in my life! It's certainly my favorite dish now and I'll be sure to order it in future trips. The price was better than the 2 other places I had lobster on the island this trip, and of course can't beat the flavor. Cooked perfectly as well! It was so good that our friend ordered it during the next visit. (We actually ate here three times in one week). For the other visits this trip, I had Cochinita Pibil and also the Filete Empapelado Moro (wrapped fish filet in moro sauce). Interestingly, the moro sauce seemed quite different in this case than the moro sauce on the lobster. This was creamy and more flavorful, but still quite good. I would definitely order the filete moro again. The Pibil is always a good option when they have it special on Sundays, and this time when I ordered it was made with *white* achiote rather than red. Just can't get enough of this place. LOVE their margaritas (very strong!) and pico de gallo, which is a little unconventional given there's no cilantro and barely any tomato (mainly just onion, habanero, and lime). Prices are very very good, but that is the reward for getting off the beaten path. Never had a bad item on the menu, everything is pretty much ranging from good to AMAZING. When you dine there, you're not just friends but family (and greeted as "familia"). :) Others in my group also had the mixed ceviche, garlic shrimp, grilled shrimp, and the special for 2. I'm told it was all very good. :) So make sure you go here, you won't be disappointed. Bring your cash since they don't take credit.More

We at at El Moro three times in one week on this trip. Managed to get all my favorites: Sunday Pibil TWICE! as well as Ceviche, Sopa de Lima (best on the Island), and their wonderful Margaritas. Service was spectacular, as it always is with...Ray. Can't wait to get back for another El Moro meal.More

How wonderful to see Ray and his lovely family again! I've missed Coz and my friends at El Moro. This time I ate here twice. I recommend the Carne Cubano which comes with plantains, and the Poc Chuc Mayan style. Of course the margaritas are...still fabulous! Folks looking for an off the beaten path place with amazing food must visit! You'll be received warmly, as this place is like visiting their home. This is the time to tip BIG folks! Lots of people are just starting to see business pick up during this pandemic. Treat them all well. You'll be remembered and welcomed every time!More

We were in Cozumel for 5 days in August 2020 and ate here twice. Dinner was so good we went back for lunch the next day. Service is amazing. All of the food we had was delicious. The mojitos are fantastic. Prices are better than...anywhere else we tried. We ate: burritos, fajitas, and 2 of the dinner specials. All superb. Both of the waiters we had were so kind and grateful and went above and beyond to make our dining experience great. Will be coming back next time we’re in Cozumel.More

Sorry, we ahve never run into that problem. Since restaurant is in an out of the way location it is a good idea to call and check hours. Sorry for inconvenience.
