We were told to skip the sister restaurant on the hotel strip for this one downtown for more authentic native dishes. There were few on the menu. It looked pretty Americanized to us. The food was ok and pretty expensive when you add in the cab fare from the hotel strip. Uber would not pick us up because the police... More

We arrived for lunch and sat inside as it was very warm outside. Within a few minutes we were seated and our drinks ordered. Warm, fresh bread was offered a few times which was delicious, especially the banana bread and onion bread. I ordered the speciality, "The Famous Cocobichella" basically a coconut filled with shrimps and lobster smothered in curry... More

The soup was not hot and had to be sent back. The shrimp and steak flambé was tough and dry. We have been eating here since 1986 and this was not very good.

We recently dined at La Habicuela with another couple. It was a magical evening. The service is impeccable and the food outstanding. We were seated at a table in the garden area, surrounded by lush vegetation and Mayan decorations. A waiter brought a selection of breads and rolls for us to choose from. Our drinks were wonderful. Two of us... More

This restaurant has been a favorite of ours for years. We love the garden ambiance and the friendly atmosphere - we had a wonderful conversation with people at the next table. The service has always been great. We started with the fried calamari and it was fantastic. Our dinners of Chicken Veronica and shrimp with garlic butter were both yummy.... More

Went on recommendation of Trip Advisor rating, it certainly lived up to its high rating. The guacamole with chips was excellent. We both had chicken fajitas that were probably the best I have had for as long as I remember. Very attentive and pleasant staff with a very unique court yard.

About a 40 minute taxi ride (250 MXN) from the hotel zone, this restaurant offers a beautiful and authentic maya-looking garden along with amazing service and excellent food. This is highly recommended for any date, group or special occasion!

This is long but detailed! We could not wait to try this place, the whole ambiance attracted me- I only wish I was there in the summer while it was still light for dinner. We tried the bus as far as we could and planned to walk after it dropped us off near the park, however, it was very dark... More

I rarely give truly negative reviews but I try to always call it as I see it. We selected this restaurant based on the incredible reviews. It was a 40 minute cab ride in traffic from the hotel zone. I hoped it was as incredible as the reviews suggested. Sadly, it wasn't. I can't possibly see how this location gets... More

Went to this restaurant because we saw it on trip advisor, and one of our group had been to it years ago. She said it had changed quite a bit since she was there last. It was wonderful!!! Three of us American women and two of our Mexican friends had a perfect night. The ambience is great! We ate in... More
