We wanted to try a restaurant away from the resort for that Mexican food experience. This restaurant was beyond our expectations. The food and service staff were wonderful. I would highly recommend this restaurant. The only negative - the waiter tried to get us to order some special for two people with a price of $72.00 - we told him... More

The Hyatt Ziva recommended this place. We had 19 including 10 kids (ages 6-14) They got us in same day and we have an awesome Dinner. Excellent service is an insult to what the manager a wait staff delivered. Mariachi saranades and margarita delivered the quintessential Mexican experience which is exactly what we were looking for. I can't say for... More

You can spend a nice dinner there. Live mariachi music at a Mexican Hacienda style restaurant combined with a great waiters attitude and excellent food. 100% recommended!

My wife and I really enjoyed eating at this restaurant. It's a great "hacienda" environment. The decor and attention is very good. Everything is cooked on the spot and fresh. It's a bit on the expensive side, but it's worth it. The live Mariachis add to the good ambiance. The only down side is... $30 for a song request! What... More

Each year we dine at El Mortero and it never disappoints us. The food, staff and entertain be are outstanding. Do not fail to enjoy the Sunday brunch. There are more selections to choose from than you can count. My son and his family which includes two teenage girls look forward to this and thoroughly enjoy themselves. Sylvester is the... More

This was one of two nice mexican restaurants our group ate at during our recent visit, and we enjoyed it thoroughly. This is a nicer/higher quality mexican restaurant, not a cheapo type of place if that is what you are looking for. The service was very good and we enjoyed a "special" that was for (2) people and was a... More

The food and atmosphere was really festive. The margaritas were huge and the food was delicious! The had a mariachi band that came to each table. They took a family photo of us put it in a frame and added it to our dinner price. For 4 people and cocktails plus the photo and frame came to $100.00usd

Great time here as always. They have a mariachi that comes around and plays for each table. The food is good. I always get the shrimp. The drinks are huge! Appetizers are delicious. There's a small variety of desserts as well. They were all pretty good. We celebrated mine and my fathers birthdays here 3 times as well as an... More
