We had a wonderful meal here during our recent visit to Cancun. We had 7:00 reservations on a Friday and the place was pretty empty when we arrived. They had a live jazz singer, but she didn't start until about 9:00. The locals started arriving around 8:00 and the place was full by the time the singer started. We were... More

My local friends introduced me to L'escargot. It was one of the best French meals I have experienced. Started with French Onion Soup, escargot and Filet w/Gorgonzola. The bread is amazing and too hard to resist. I am looking forward to returning in future visits. We enjoyed listening to the female singer who sang romantic soft tunes of the Tony... More

If you're a foodie, then get away from the mediocre hotel zone restaurants, and venture into Cancun. This place is amazing. My wife and I had steak tartar, a 10 oz filet, a bottle of wine, dessert, and espresso for a grand total of $75....including 20% tip! You MUST dine here while in Cancun.

This is a very quaint French restaurant. Eat inside or out. Live Jass Fridays. Start with escargot served French style with lots of garlic butter and herbs. Follow with several choices of Chateaubrian and sauces or try the Fillet St Vincent. The fish is fresh and well cooked. They make their own bread and will sell you a loaf or... More

This charming restaurant, in a small house with garden and well as inside seating, is both exceptionally reasonable in price and wonderful for the taste buds. The home made toast with garlic spread awakens your taste for the rest of the meal. We ordered from the starter menu tapas style and were not disappointed. The cheese plate was generous and... More

We went to Escargot for celebrating the Valentine's day with high expectations of the place since we heard it was a trendy restaurant in Cancún. The restaurant has 13 years in Cancún what gave us more confidence. Once we arrived we where nice treated by our waitress, but she didn't offer water or bread and took her too long to... More

Out of the hotels district! Thanks God there is real life in Cancún (still)! We found this small french restaurant out of the fake Cancún. Leaving the hotels district the prices fall 50%, the quality rises 100% and, most important, the good taste increases 1.000% (ok, compared to the fake Cancún this is not difficult). The restaurant is running by... More

Reading the reviews of l'escargot on Trip Advisor, my husband and I decided to journey into the downtown neighborhood. We took a bus to the first stop downtown, and then we got off to catch a taxi. Fortunately I had written down the address and the phone number because the taxi driver had to call twice to find the restaurant.... More

My trips to Cancun would not be complete if I failed to indulge in l'escargot. This hidden jewel is a cozy favorite for consistently good food and warm service. The French owner and daughter really knows how to make you feel special.

Visited L'Escargot August 28, 2015 based upon a recommendation. It's a small family restaurant and we made reservations - party of 12! They were well able to handle our party with timely, attentive service. The meals were enjoyed by all. In my case, the French onion soup and chicken tarragon were excellent. The entertainment, songs by Cynthia, capped a most... More
