The Chef's Plate is only available if you book a certain level of room and it's hard to get in. They do two dinners per night, sixteen people per seating. Try to book it when you check in or try to contact the hotel before you arrive to see if they will let you book in advance if there is... More

It's a very and rare concept in the hotels; to have a table of just 16 persons and a chef choosing different dishes very gastronomic and which is changed frequently. Very nice experience in cancun...

I think we all go in with too high expectations. It was a lovely experience and anyone staying at the Hyatt Zilara should try it. For a couple of reasons. First because you will tire of the other food choices in the hotel. Secondly it's a lot of fun to dine with 18 strangers. You get to meet new people... More

Delightful. Awesome. It was "Fish Night" and our 7 course meal was simply outstanding. The service was warm and accommodating. I regret not going back a 2nd time. We were happy to tip the Maître D', the waiter and the chef.

The Chefs plate was supposed to be the most fancy place to eat on the resort but was pretty underwhelming. It was a degustation menu. Whilst the food was well cooked the flavours were pretty average and basic. Not fine dining and not something I would go back for. Was pretty underwhelming which is disappointing given the venue and service... More

a 5 course tasting menu of the finest food cancun has to offer, served at a table of 17 guests. We had, among other things, a warm leek soup with breaded mussels and scallop, a cedar plank salmon with potato, and many other items. delicious and intimate.

As others have mentioned it's a very small venue associated with Hyatt Zilara. Only two seatings per night (when we were there). Was a six course meal and each course was on the petit side - which is actually ok. In the US we have huge portions so it's refreshing to have smaller portions. Staff was good and had a... More

Service, yes, nice to get bubbly when arriving and they prepare the first course based on people arriving. Service was very good, food fresh and interesting choices prepared. We decided to go a 2nd night (space available) and the first night was better. Next visit we will plan to go back for the one table meal, most other guests have... More

In April/May 2015 we stayed in the Hyatt Zilara, Cancun for two weeks. We have been members for several years and vacationed at the resort a number of times. The staff in the Chef's Plate is first rate, professional, attentive, informative and entertaining so we felt very welcome and eager for each course. We reserved our dinners there almost every... This has come to be one of our favourite meals when we visit the Hyatt Zilara in Cancun. You sit with other people at a long table and the chef for the evening does his thing! The meal is always a surprise, and we have never been disappointed. It is gourmet and often a bit unusual - nothing I'd ever... More

Delicious and unusual menus every night. Concept was termed 'molecular' many tastes and textures we had not experienced in the past, in an intimate setting. Lovely meals always!
