Tasty and well-presented food, albeit more westernised compared to some other places we dined in. Service was efficient and very friendly with the host engaging in offering giant bottles of beer for fun. The portions were large and plentiful. Pricing was reasonable.

We had to visit Gory Tacos twice during our short stay in Cancun thanks to their genuine food and friendly service.
Bart, our waiter, was helpful and fun - quick to serve and answer questions as well as talk about background and the local area. Bart was polite and timely and even supplied us with free drinks on our second experience.
We ordered rancheros, quesadillas, and tacos and have no complaints whatsoever. The rancheros were particularly good and would recommend for any party of two or more. Gory Tacos also supplied chips and salsa with limes and vegetables before the main meal.

Stumbled on this friendly establishment while walking around Cancun, and boy were we glad we did. The food was plentiful, delicious, and at very reasonable prices. But perhaps the best part was the service! Our lively server, Bart, was fun and jocular at every interaction. At one point he pranked us with a tortilla warmer, setting it on the table and cautioning us "don't look inside" to which of course I responded by opening it... I won't ruin the surprise for other guests, but let's just say I had a good laugh! Bart really made the meal fun and enjoyable. We started with the small ceviche mixto for a starter, which was actually quite large, and though it wasn't strictly ceviche (it had been cooked, not marinated in lime juice) it was tasty and, unlike most Mexican restaurants I've encountered, had real hearty chunks of seafood and not just canned tuna fish. For entrees I had the mole enchiladas, which were outstanding...possibly the best mole sauce I've ever tasted. My partner had the parilla platter. Both portions were quite large and — after our appetizer and an endless supply of tortilla chips + salsas — left us feeling stuffed and satisfied. Would definitely recommend Gory Tacos to anyone visiting Cancun and looking for a good meal with great service!

Not a bad meal, but every other meal I had in Mexico was better than this one.
It’s one of those touristy restaurants with the colourful American style menus. The staff spoke English well and were friendly.
I started off with chips and guacamole. This was actually pretty good.
Next was the chicken soup. This wasn’t too bad, it had shredded carrot and rice in it. I crunched up some corn chips and added them to the soup which made it better.
The fish tacos were subpar. They were overcooked fish in tomato sauce on a single taco. They fell apart when I picked them up and I had to eat them with a knife and fork.
It was quite pricey compared to some of the other food I’ve had in Mexico, and I didn’t feel that it was great value. But this type of restaurant seems to be the norm in the area.

Stayed at nearby hotel. Ate here twice. 1st time ok but not particularly memorable. 2nd time, Our fish was burned and overcooked (cremated), staff ignored our complaint. Local watier(shill) was very active, friendly and colorful. Food was shiite.
Just a tourist trap. Good presentation. No follow through.

We gave Gory Tacos a try after reading the positive reviews online. Everything positive you read is just true - great, welcoming and warm service from the owner & all the staff. The guacamole, and the Tacos we had, were all really delicious and come at a great value, too!
Would always recommend to friends and family & we'll definitely visit again during our stay in Cancun!

This is a great local restaurant in a lovely spot in Cancun central. The staff was lovely and friendly and attentive. The beer was cold and 2x1. The michelada was delightfully refreshing. Chips and salsa were fresh and tasty. We ordered the whole grouper. It was crispy crunchy and yummy. Could have had a bit more actual fish flesh for the price but we shared it (after some appetizers around the town square) and were satisfied. Definitely a good spot when in the Centrál area.

Took my 4 kids and wife to central Cancun and stumbled across this restaurant. Staff was amazing with my kids. They really went over and beyond for us. Not to mention the food was the best I had had in Cancun and the chips and salsa are the best I have ever had anywhere in my travels. Will definitely be back. Already have started recommending them to anyone I run into that ask for a authentic Mexican feel and food. 5 stars to Gorys Tacos. Keep up the good work!

This guy! Bart is a great host and waiter. This place was down the block from my hotel and became my favorite spot! I got the grilled fish several times because it was just so good! Nice perfect crispy fries, fish obviously was delicious, and they have 2 for 1 margaritas which were so tasty. They have a big menu and I get to visit again soon! Can’t wait to try more of their menu.

Gory has mastered the art of good customer service. We wandered past a few restaurants however Gory’s humour and charisma drew us in. We enjoyed some lovely tacos and beers at very reasonable prices and Gory even helped us with our Spanish! Gracias Gory! Muy muy bien!

I walked by in the early afternoon and the owner was hard at work making sure to smile and wave at every person he could. When we talked he didn't pressure me to come eat or drink he focused only on answering my questions on the beers he serves and the time of day his 2 for 1 applies (special note...its all day!)
I came back later that day and despite all the people he talked to, he either recognized me or convincingly acted like he did and we had our drinks. While we sat there he never pressured us to buy more from him he was simply happy to have us as customers. Full of laughter and kindness, this is the honest side of Mexico you must experience when you visit!

We found Gory Tacos on our first night in Cancun, just down the street from the market and I'm so glad we did. The staff were so friendly and had a great sense of humour and the food was excellent. We split some enchiladas, tacos and quesadillas so we could try a bit of everything and nothing disappointed! Would definitely go back.

While in Cancun, visit Gory Tacos, meet Bart! Service with lots of laughs, is his trademark. He represents the best of Cancun. He gave us his business' wifi info, and we could not find time to use it. He was that engaging and involved in the highly personalized service he gave. Every customer was his special customer. I'll go there again.

Visited with a group of 11 family members. The actual location is a bit hard to get to since it sits in a plaza like setting so you are dropped off and walk to the area. The area has many other places to eat. The place is small to sit inside, we had to sit outside given our party size. Food was very good and service was very attentive. For sure a great typical Mexican food place to consider. I would go back!

Really nice food. Funniest waiter ever, his name was Bart and he was hilarious. On top of this, I was being bitten by mosquitos, Bart sensed I was in discomfort and came over to ask what was wrong, I explained to him what was wrong and he brought me mosquito repellant cream. What a legend. Thank you Bart.
