Off the beaten path, through the doors of a local hotel entrance, and then following a meandering courtyard garden path to the lagoon shoreline is the restuarant. It's unique, simple, romantic, accomodating, rustic, very relaxing, un-tourist like, and, well, feels like what being in Mexico is supposed to feel like (given that Cancun was developed from the ground up in... We usually stop at the La Palapa Belga when we visit Cancun. The thing we enjoy most is the atmosphere. The restaurant is in a quiet neighborhood immediately in front of the lagoon. We enjoyed a full moon above the hotels, lighting the lagoon, under a palapa. The food is average and a little overpriced. My wife ordered French Onion... More

Quaint restaurant, difficult to find. Had French Onion Soup, Escargot and Pork Tenderloin. Very good. Service was mediocre, poor English. Had Margaritas, could have been served in larger glass. Overall quite enjoyable.

Overpriced restaurant for the worst food we have had in one whole month in Mexico. We checked their website before going and the reviews and it seemed perfect. When the food arrived we left most of it because it was awful. We asked for explanations and discovered the cook changed, the food too, but not the prices...a scam!

Really enjoyed our dinner at this Belgian restaurant. The food was excellent, maybe best in Cancun. We had a large group and tasted much of the food and all was great. The service was fast and good. Location is hard to find but lovely view of the lagoon. Go and enjoy

Nice place all open under a big palapa. The pot of Mussels is literally a big pot of mussels more than you will get anywhere. The folks we went with loved their food. The mussels are very good. One knock on this place is don't order the pate it really isn't worth getting. At least on the night we were... More

Great food - especially considering it was a set menu for NYE which is always a bit hit and miss. We had a wonderful night; great food, okay wine, lots of beer, sitting on the edge of the lagoon. It was very windy - but that is hardly the fault of the restaurant and we were able to move tables.... More

A beautiful place in Nichupté lagoon with nice skyline view of the hotel zone. The food is properly cooked, but there are specialties that you need not to avoid as the Belgian mussels or the quails. The wine list is correct, and the service is attentive. The trip to this location worth it. Arrive no later than 5pm to enjoy... More

Beautiful setting, cool lagoon breeze & panoramic views of hotel zone skyline. Salad starters quite tasty, both the prawn raspberry & feta were well served and seasoned. Main dishes were may average. Salmon Hollandaise was the better of the dishes. The stuffed chicken was well, cooked although an insipid taste as were the sides of mashed potatoes. The mussels were first... More

Just a the edge of the Hotel Zone on the lagoon is a hidden gem of fine dining. Belga is one of our must visit restaurants every time we visit Cancun. The atmosphere is very quiet and comfortable with views of the skyline of the Hotel Zone. On our last visit, the escargot and mushrooms gratin were spectacular, followed by... More
