We stumbled upon this place, en route to somewhere else, and remembered reading about it in the Lonely Planet Guide. The amiable hustler outside enticed us in with a two for one offer on the surf and turf option. The food was first class - and hugely better than the slightly down at heel location (up a claustrophobic side-road in... More

Just wanted to pass on our experience at Carrillo's in Cancun. The food was excellent although the place is not easy to find. I tried to use my EP card for 2x1 lobster which is on the printout you get from EP. We were told it was not good on lobster so disappointed that we were not able to use... More

We enjoyed our meal the last time we visited Cancun and decided to go again this visit. This time my husband and I shared one of the platters for two (steak, lobster, shrimp, and fish). The steak was dry and on the tough side. The lobster was okay but had been cooked a little too long. The shrimp and fish... More

I've been living in Cancun for 31 years and Carrillo's was already a Cancun institution when my family & I got here. Great, authentic Mexican seafood and Mexican cuisine in general, excellent service and not expensive, especially when compared to the restaurants in the hotel zone. The hotel which goes with the restaurant isn't fancy but it's very affordable and... More

Went there with my entertainment plus 2x1 discount card during lunch time. It is actually a hotel's restaurant located in a quiet street and we took quite a bit of time before we arrived. There's no one there when we had our lunch, but the experience is still good. It is quiet and the food are quite ok. Go there... More

A family owned restaurant right off of Tulum Avenue, Cancun. We had a great dinner for two, Surf, Surf. Surf & Turf. More than enough for two people, could easily feed three! Once again, sit on the patio next to the street and watch all the locals walk by. Great service and food! Will definitely go back on our next... More

Carillo's could be not worth the trip if your expectations are too high. It is not five star or even close but it is a fun experience at a reasonable price if you use these tips. From Hotel Zone take the R1 to downtown for 85 pesos each way. Get off on the stop right at La Hacienda restaurant (or... More

We had the most expensive thing on the menu, a meal for 2 including lobster tails, fish fillets, chicken breast and shrimp. We were not disappointed in the food, but the service was so-so, despite the waiter/owner(he seemed to be the only guy there) bragging about how great it was. It is on a dead end street just off Avenida... More

Have eaten here on 3-4 trips to the area....great fresh quacamole and chips, Mexican meals very good, did not try lobster.....waiters always friendly, helpful...drink specials always......usually not too busy, unfortunate for them...but they keep hanging on! Keep up the good work!
